Title: Just got a 2012 grizzly 700
Post by: mattsmith on April 19, 2012, 08:59:39 PM
Hi, I just bought a new grizzly 700, and the dealer wants $460.00 to do the first service. I also bought a 4 year extended warranty, do you have to have the dealer do the first service or are they trying to get my money? I think that is alot of $ to change the oil and diff. fluids, I can do it all for a lot cheaper myself, but I don't want a problem if I have to take it back for warranty. Thank's for your help Matt

Hey, congrats on such an awesome quad! The first service is a complete check up of the quad to make sure anything that could be loose, isn't. The reason being so high is the labor time tacked onto the price of parts (oil, filter, o-ring's).

If you use non-OEM parts and said parts fail, your warranty will be voided (more like under review) if traced back to your inferior part.

This is from their website. "Yamaha provides warranty coverage for new Yamaha® products originally sold by Yamaha Authorized Dealers located in the United States. Yamaha products purchased from retailers other than Yamaha Authorized Dealers (whether via the Internet, or otherwise) will NOT be covered by Yamaha’s warranties, and U.S. service centers will not repair such products under warranty.
