Title: Repainted my bike
Post by: QuadMAN2k5 on April 06, 2011, 09:04:23 PM
Hey, I just re-painted my 1985 Honda Magna V30. My buddy and I spent about 30 hours on this project. The original color was a black gloss.

This WWII themed paint job. Specifically, its design pays homage to the "Flying Tiger" fighter jets of WWII. The Flying tigers were one of the first squadrons to start painting the jaws on their planes. This bike is also a commemoration to my grandfather who was a paratrooper in the 504th. The letter number sequence on the right fairing was on one fo the C-47's that my grandfather jumped out of. This was my first paint job. I had a blast doing it and I could not have done it without my good friend John.  The tiger on the left fairing is a sticker...everthing else was stenciled on.

 Enjoy.

Great job!! I like it. :ThumbsUp.gif :ThumbsUp.gif   I would like to point out the Flying Tigers flew the Curtis P-40 Warhawk  piston powered propeller driven airplanes. The P-40 didn't perform well in higher altitudes but could hold there own in the lower ones. I'm sort of a WW2 buff. Good job on the sharks mouth!!! I think its fantastic you incorporated your grandfathers participation of WW2 into the paint job!
