I saw this on eBay this morning and couldn't resist.  Fifteen minutes of groveling with the wife and the deal was done.  Hope to have it home next week!

Engine.  392 Ford Racing motor with 4 - 48 IDA Webers making 475 HP.

Part of the deal I made with the wife means I have to sell my F350.  2001 Crew Cab Lariat with Powerstroke.  Any interest?

I like the truck more than the car.

The truck is nice but I've got that plus a 2006 F350 and an Excursion sitting in the driveway.  Then, I've got a 1969 Landcruiser at the warehouse along with all the other toys.  Something has to go and since nobody ever drives the 2001 anymore, and there's no way I'm selling the 'Cruiser, that was the chosen one.  Hey!  I've got an idea.  You buy the truck, I'll tow my Ranger over and you can show me where to fish in Charlotte Harbor.  I'll leave the truck and have the wife come pick me and the boat up when the weekend's over!  Yeah!  That's the ticket!   ;D

I think my problem is going to be with my 14 year old daughter.  She always thought the truck was going to be her first car (NOT!!).  Now she thinks the Backdraft will be.

OMG!!  The car arrived tonight and it is even more beautiful in person.  A picture never does it justice.  The car pulls hard and sounds fantastic.  Who needs a radio with an 8 cylinder symphony playing?  The funny part is how many people tried to race me.  I would just let them power on by as I eased through the gears, never showing the true power of the Ford.   It was great.  8)

I call it responsibility.  How cool would it be to get a ticket or in a wreck the first hour I own it and, what glory in blowing the doors off a Lexus, Beemer or Camaro on a city street?  It certainly isn't the fastest car on the road (high 11s is what the previous owner clocked) but that's the point; the road is not the place to find out.

That's why i sold my buick grand national, wasn't fun anymore. There's a cop on every corner, racing on the highway ticket has as many points as a DUI and everybody with a rice burner wanted to race. Hopefully when i go through my mid life crisis period i won't get another hot rod. ;)

Everybody wants to call it mid-life crisis but it's really just how long it takes to pay off the mortgage, set up the college funds, be at a point in your career that you're making enough money to do all the things you always dreamt of doing.  Unfortunately, it doesn't actually happen at mid-life (35 years old); it happens in your fifties, if at all.
