Title: Drag Race for $$$$$$ Post by: jayman on September 09, 2010, 09:03:16 PM So who would be interested in putting up some money to enter a drag race......winners take home money not trophies?
This would be held at Dirty Foot Mud Ranch It is a 300' sand drag with 400' shut down with an additional 300' if needed to shut down.... This is a feeler to see if there is any interest before purchasing lights and a timing system Title: Re: Drag Race for $$$$$$ Post by: cj on September 10, 2010, 08:21:31 PM sounds like fun.
we may make some ,as long as it's not on our race weekends ! how consistant are they with track prep between runs,do they drag it or roll it,both ? is it just sand,or a mix of some type. I had read where they packed it down on someone and they couldnt get any bite with their paddles,is that typical ? we ran some at the motoplex a few years ago,it was a lot of fun !! Paul used some kind of rotating attachament on the tractor to level it out and keep it loose and consistant, worked realy well ,but they could have worked the start box a little more often,I seen a bunch of people get hung up instantly from digging too deep and hanging the swingarm on the berm in the middle, way too funny to watch !! Title: Re: Drag Race for $$$$$$ Post by: jayman on September 10, 2010, 08:30:13 PM They have a blade on the tractor and a HUGE Roller/compactor.........they cleaned it up after every round of different quads....or when it was necessary
It is a sand track exactly like what you ran in the past (when your wife sat Tyler down lol ) Traction is a premium unless you have paddles or the 4-snow style tire. I ran regular rzrs on mine and took third in the modified class.... Title: Re: Drag Race for $$$$$$ Post by: yfz122 on September 10, 2010, 08:38:01 PM The hard packed start was a one time deal. That was a joke they played on me. Pro wedge style tires seem to work best followed by paddles and then knobbies.

Title: Re: Drag Race for $$$$$$ Post by: 1fastltr450 on September 17, 2010, 12:00:56 PM I dont know if I can make a race that quick with a new one born yesterday but I will see. I know this is a starter race but I think you will need to come up with a couple more classes. like 450 modified and so on. The built 450s will not run with a tricked out banshee. Just a little input to help you out.
