Title: cleaning your helmet

 wanted to know some ways to get the funky smell out ?

is the helmet liner removable?  We take ours out after every ride and wash on gentle

If you cant do that, spray it with Fabreeze and let it sit over night to dry out. Keeps mine from stinkin. I dont have a removable liner.

Hey it works great for body armor that can't go in the washing machine: boots, knee pads.........

GOOD STUFF RIGHT THERE!!!!!

thanks for the replies i have an older helmet and of course liner is not removeable i tried the febreeze before this weekend and it made a little difference

I don't remember the name of the product but there is a spray that you can get at a shop here in Jacksonville, called Cycle Gear it is on Beach Blvd. Have not tryed it but was told it works real good. Comes in a small spray can.

i take mine in the shower with me, put the shampoo in my hair, then move the helmet all around! rinse with clean water and set it in front of a fan and its as good as new ;)

Yes but Dreth also sleeps with his helmet on in case he wakes up in the night form a dream about big air and wants to go try it.  ;D

I believe that too.

I'll have to wash mine,,,had the helmet for over a year and never washed it,,,,,,it really stinks now.

I almost didn't want to put it on over the weekend.

You guys up in north florida got some crazy ideas but I guess they work
