Title: Florida Home Owner's Insurance - Who do you have?
Post by: mrbones on March 12, 2010, 12:14:21 PM
My insurance is going up 60% this year for my house for no apparent reason. That's a 60% hike for the exact same coverage as last year. I've never had a claim. St. Johns Insurance is trying to screw me.

I need to find a new company for insurance. Any recommendations?

That's crazy. Your agent better be shopping you. If they can't come up with anything better shoot me a PM with the general area you live and I can refer you to another agent.

When we bought a house several years ago a lady at the title company told us about a very cheap company. We used them due to price. a year later I called around to get with a better company. All the agents told me that this company is very good, and was moving its operations to Florida. They had better coverage, lower deductibles, and better rates than any other I found. They don't write for the entire state anymore, and may have some restrictions on home age, but it's worth giving them a call. The only thing is that the majority of their business in Spanish speaking so you have to get an English speaking rep. In my experience it's worth the little aggravation.

I own a Insurance Agency and to tell u the quick reason why is because the State of Florida allowed Citizens to raise its rates and everybody has followed suite. The State has artifcially kept rates low and now are letting companies raise them again. If you would like to get a quote or learn more i would be happy to answer anybodies questions if a can. Here is my website we insure all over the state and have 14 different carries all depends where you are located.
