Title: St. Augustine's "Auggie Bog"? Post by: Dixie Normous on February 22, 2010, 09:53:09 AM I'm not sure of how many of you know about this, but St Augustine has an event every third weekend of the month and its called Auggie Bog. It is a truck mud boggin, grillin', atv riding, hillbillyish get together I have ever had the pleasure of attending! Hahaha....but I can tell ya we had a blast!
Lotsa good ridin', mud, hills, and they actually let the atv riders play in the big mud pit throughout the day. The only thing they lacked was alot of deep water....there was water, I just didn't try it out to see how deep it was. I would recommend this place to any of the locals, Jacksonville residents that are looking for a place to ride and have alot of fun... Its located across from the airport / Grumman, take the right, go down about 1 mile and the entrance is on your right. $15.00 per person (rider or spectator) and all kids under 10 are free. Just wanted to let everyone know! Title: Re: St. Augustine's "Auggie Bog"? Title: Re: St. Augustine's "Auggie Bog"? Post by: 450rutmaker on February 25, 2010, 06:41:05 PM Im trying to get the owner to have a atv mud race out there. I was thinking instead of side by side racing we could set up 3 barrels and have a barrel race on a timer. Whats your thoughts?
Title: Re: St. Augustine's "Auggie Bog"? Post by: Dixie Normous on February 25, 2010, 07:23:40 PM Their website does not show the atv area...hills, mud, a pretty good place close to home to ride for the weekend. I didn't hear about it until 1:30pm on sunday and rode down there with the family in tow, and had a straight out blast. I was so muddy I had to ride home in my underware, good thing I didn't get pulled over!
We went to ride at regency and they have posted no tresspassing signs all over the place out there, so we decided to ride to st. augustine on a spur of the moment without a change of clothes....that won't happen again... Title: Re: St. Augustine's "Auggie Bog"? Post by: stacktester on February 25, 2010, 07:59:05 PM Been to all but 2 of them. Ususally go on Saturday but had to go Sunday this time. I hear they had 500 on Saturday and 600 on Sunday. Pretty damned good. They were doing a atv race in the pit. $5 to get in and they paid back 100% but haven't seen it in last couple months. The DEP made them plant a bunch of trees out there where the atv track was. Not sure why there but you never know.
Title: Re: St. Augustine's "Auggie Bog"? Post by: Dixie Normous on February 27, 2010, 07:52:04 PM They made them replant trees that were removed from what was considered "Florida Wetlands" thats a big NO NO in FLroida...can't mess with the wetlands! So...the state made them replant what was removed. It was still fun!
