Title: Tell me about ONF...
Post by: HASBEEN on January 25, 2010, 12:44:01 PM
My wife recently surprised me by buying herself a 2003 Kodiak 400. The surprise is that she's 68 years young! We have for the past couple of years trucked off to the sand dunes in Glamis (CA) with just my Griz 660. Can't do it this year but would like to take the Toyhauler upo Ocala NF for a few days but don't know the area. Could some of you comment as to where a good place is to park the trailer and be able to ride directly from the trailer park. I'm an experienced rider (about 50yrs worth) and she is a beginner if that helps with where a good place to go would be - but don't suggest too tame of a place....

Thanks,

Mike

Forget ONF Judge Dred patrols it and its no fun. :'(  Go to Croom the campground has power and water and you ride directly from your site to the trails.  :) The main trails are all groomed right now so there is some nice easy trail riding. If you want more aggressive trails just pick a trail off the main trails.  Croom has it all, mud, trails, sand and hills.   The campground is I think 15 a night and the croom sticker right now beccasue its prorated is 40 bucks.     Good luck and have fun!

Oh the Croom campground is usually full on weekend first come first serve. Get there early on Fri or go during the week or you may not get a spot.
