Title: Centennial Trail near Ocala. Post by: D33411 on January 05, 2010, 06:16:10 AM My husband and I just noticed this trail as we were heading over to wandering wiregrass. Does anyone have any input on where you park, how long it is, is it worth riding, etc? Is it part of the ONF system where you pay the $10 and ride for 3 days? Thanks, Dawn
Title: Re: Centennial Trail near Ocala. Post by: RubiconJim on January 07, 2010, 02:43:19 AM I usually ride the North trails around Rodman down to 316.
I rode the south loops in Jan 09. parked at the trail head off hwy 40 and rode the Centennial trail. Check out this website: http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida/ocala/recreation/ohv.overview.php?p=1.1.3.4 Jim Title: Re: Centennial Trail near Ocala. Post by: RubiconJim on January 07, 2010, 02:55:30 AM It appears they are now calling the Centennial Trail the Ocala Adventure Trail.
Go to the website and select the Ocala Adventure Trial. That map is a little better than the Centennial Trail map. For some reason it does not show Big Scrub but it's there on lower end. http://www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida/ocala/recreation/ohv.overview.php?p=1.1.3.4 The fees are the same on both the north and south ends. $10 for 3 day pass or $75 for yearly pass. I want to ride the Ocala Adventure Trail again this month. Just waiting for better weather. Let me know when you are going, maybe we can hook up for a ride. Good ridin! How long are the trails at big scrub?
Actually our next trip is going to be RiverRanch, which we bought about 8 months ago and haven't been yet. We also own in Suburban Estates, which we never seem to get to either very much. We are in Palm Beach County and make it up to Ocala about 4 times a year to ride. I just love the trails up there! I am not one for muddin much. If you are riding the north trails, don't forget to stop by the Pig Pen Bar at the trail head of the blue trail. Jack bought it back and he is a hoot. They don't open until 1, but he is flexible! lol Thanks for all your help. Next time we head up that way I will drop you a line. Dawn Title: Re: Centennial Trail near Ocala. Post by: bareback on January 07, 2010, 09:44:26 AM Hey JIm , when you get ready for the ride make sure you post it. I know a few people who would love to meet out there. I've never been so I am looking forward to new trails. Thanks, Susan

The Ocala Adventure trail is 45 miles. Not sure is there are other trails you can still legally ride out of Big Scrub. Have not been there in a while. I have been to Suburban Estates a few times. A friend has a nice place there with a couple of trailers. I hit the Pigpen everytime I go to the North end usually a the end of my ride. It takes me about 30 minutes to get from the Pigpen to Rodman Dam if I ride. Rodman Dam is just off Hwy 19. From Salt Springs drive North on Hwy 19 to the big high Canal Bridge. Just before the bridge (maybe 200 yards) turn left and go about 3 miles and you will cross the dam. Continue across the dam to the parking lot (another 1/2 mile or less). Park there. The atv trailhead is there. If you continue on you truck, NF road 88 goes south from there. From Palatka type Hwy 19 south and after crossing the Canal Bridge, take the first right and follow the directions above. When you come off the bridge start checking up quickly or you won't make the right turn. Good Ridin. Title: Re: Centennial Trail near Ocala.
