I'll be with my son, we are riding a Z400 and a Honda 250.. I'll look for you at Wolf's Den.. tvman Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: apkkfx400 on June 21, 2005, 05:28:22 PM I was just up in May with my friend Tim, I don't know what trails they have closed off to quads, but we never had any problem with closed trails-if they're closed they're probably too tight of trails to fit 4 wheelers thru. There is over 100 mi. worth of trails-3mx tracks and one pee wee mx track-you won't be bored. We had a great time. There's a good article in July issue of Dirtwheels about Durhamtown-you should check it out-I think it has a map. The directions off www.durhamtown.com are better than mapquest-even though both are confusing-especially at 3a and in the dark.
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: AintSkeered on June 21, 2005, 08:54:03 PM We'll be there July 6-8, unless we can move up our reservations. I'll try tomorrow.

I'm driving a Gold Isuzu Rodeo. I'll be riding a black Honda 450R. Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: apkkfx400 on June 22, 2005, 10:48:31 AM There are some pics posted of our trip to Durhamtown in photo gallery under durhamtown pic. The trails were the sh#t-lots of jumps, real fast-one way trails is the best/only way-no worries. Have fun and post some pics when y'all get back!!
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: kicking_dirt on June 23, 2005, 07:21:24 PM me and the kicking dirt crew will be there july 14th through the 17th

Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: jaxraptor on June 26, 2005, 10:05:12 PM party around the campfire!!
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: apkkfx400 on June 27, 2005, 07:26:33 AM Yeah, what jaxraptor said!! In the lodge there is also ping pong and pool table. At the lodge they usually have a big fire with music-or just go to sleep. If you ride right thru the day, your night will be spent sleeping!!
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: tvman on July 07, 2005, 02:38:49 PM Just got back from a week at Durhamtown.. WOW!! We had a blast...
From the drag strip..to the trails..to the 4 mx tracks..it was EXCELLENT.. We had a bit of rain and that made for some nasty "red-clay" conditions, but riding those trails in the woods were awesome.. All the trails are one-way..and that eliminates having to look around for "crazy riders" running into you.. Met some really fun people and my son had a great time too.. The cabins are a bit small, but had hot showers and air-conditioning...That's all you need... One recommendation for Durhamtown..get some washers and dryers so guests can do some laundry... My only complaint...the drive is SOOOO LOONG.... We need a place in S. Florida like this... The place was excellent, except for the fact that the trails are only open from 9am to 5pm. They do have a night ride on Fri-Sat nites, though. If you go with your family or another couple and book one of their "cabins", get the Motel 8 or the Green Acres(The others are way too small for my liking). They manicure the 140 miles of trails. The kids and sport bikers will love the MX tracks. There are motels about 20 miles away, too. The Jamison Inn(town of Ocoee) is nice. It's about a 10 hour drive from Fart Lauderdale, so you'll spend two days traveling. They serve no food M-F, but, lots of places to eat about 20 miles spouth in Ocoee.
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: dj_pizzim on July 11, 2005, 09:05:25 AM Glad you had fun. If you call in advance and they have a large group there during the week you can expect Breakfast and Dinner but the play Lunch by ear. Also depending on how many people are there Hollywood will do nighht rides during the week if enought people want to go. The problem with the night ride is you have to have both front AND back lights and no loud exhaust so i wasnt able to go. Also for those mx fans i think the MX tracks stay open about an hour longer than the trails. Also TVman you have a point a laundrymat there would be nice the drive to the one in town wasnt that bad but having one on site would have been nice.
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: susieblazer on July 11, 2005, 06:30:10 PM How far in advance do we need to make reservations at the campground.........we are going Labor Day weekend.......lol Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: Numkut on July 12, 2005, 01:20:13 AM Looks awsome and the prices are great. Isn't that the place they let you ride on the road? Anyways does the price to ride include the motocross tracks?
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: apkkfx400 on July 12, 2005, 07:36:08 AM Can't ride on the streets. Where the trails are located there really is no need to. You'll have to cross the street to get to some of the trails. The night ride, however, they may go down the street to get to some of the trails your not allowed on during the day. Prices to ride do include all mx track access! Also, take advantage of their pressure washer-that GA clay is tough to get off without some extra water pressure.
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: kicking_dirt on July 12, 2005, 10:03:00 PM We are going to durham tomorrow for four days anyone else going that way hit me back we are leaving late at night.also are their any fav trail that we should take
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: apkkfx400 on July 13, 2005, 07:43:29 AM All of them!! But mainly just don't skip the trail that runs behind the lodge-sometimes this trail is closed to atv's-not too sure why. It's a small loop but really fast w/a lot of jumps and good wide open conditions!!
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: kreed5821 on July 15, 2005, 09:42:19 AM As long as ya'll are going that far, I suggest going on up to Broad River for a day or so. It's a new place and is getting better all the time. They already have better than sixty miles of trails and lots, lots, lots of mud. Got bypass trails around the mud as well. They don't have mx tracks yet, but the food is great. They are only open on weekends and holidays right now. They cook out if there are enough people there. The only time I've been when they didn't cook, they ordered out pizza. They've got new cabins that sleep six for $75/night. Best of all, they love quads. That's why they opened, and they'll treat you great! If anyone tries them out let me know how you liked it. I think before long they'll be the best place to ride a four wheeler in GA. Once they get the mx tracks that is.
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: apkkfx400 on July 15, 2005, 05:40:05 PM Do they have a website yet?
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: kreed5821 on July 15, 2005, 05:48:35 PM Yes it's www.broadriveratv.com . Sign up for their forums while your there and meet some of us GA boys.
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: AintSkeered on July 15, 2005, 06:31:06 PM Now you tell me. I just got back from GA last Monday. Any of you GA boys been to Dirty Dog's Park just south of Phenix City on 431?
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: kreed5821 on July 15, 2005, 07:22:34 PM I haven't. I rode at Broad River a few weeks ago and met some guys with the Possum Patrol (GA ATV Riders Assn.) They are a good bunch of people to ride with. I live so far north that I can be in three other states faster than I can get to Atlanta so Phenix City is a long haul for me. Maybe three and a half hours speeding the whole way. What exactly is Dirty Dog's Park? Is it in GA because I haven't heard of it?
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: kicking_dirt on July 18, 2005, 09:51:54 PM Im back from durham man was it fun we had a blast it just take so long to get their they key things to look for is new loop they open new trails daily so dont never think u rode all of them before its worth the drive im going back but i want to go to broad anyone have directions to any other place thats closer in ga
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: kreed5821 on July 19, 2005, 09:01:47 AM If you will go to www.atvnation.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7406 (http://www.atvnation.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7406) it will list GA riding areas. Public at top and private at bottom. You will have to click on the private ones to see where they are. These are listed by the GA ATV Riders Assn. (Possum Patrol) so all of the places listed are ATV friendly.
You can also go to www.atvpathfinder.com (http://www.atvpathfinder.com) and click "United States" then scroll down to Georgia and it will list all of them. They are also listed on GA Offroad. www.georgiaoffroad.com (http://www.georgiaoffroad.com) but that is a dirtbike site and a lot of them seem snobby towards atv riders. They have a lot of info on the places to ride though. Wish I could help you more but I'm on the opposite end of GA. Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: apkkfx400 on July 19, 2005, 10:36:04 AM Kicking dirt-posting any pics?
Title: Re: Durhamtown Post by: AintSkeered on July 19, 2005, 09:47:56 PM Dirty Dog's Park is in AL, near Phenix City. But, it's only about 400 acres, so I can't say it's worth a 3-4 hour drive, IMHO. But, it's still a lot of fun with dense forest, hills, a mud pit and a minor MX track.
