If so, I can't believe they'd open that can of worms again, after all the fines and such. But, you know I'll be there! Too close to home to miss out on this!

I you like to ride and cover distance and explore you can cover the whole area in 6 minutes. Personally I think it sucked!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to one last year and there were thousands of people, a live band, trailers selling ice, food etc, the place was off the chain. I don't know where you were but it could not have been this place. Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: BCConviber on June 23, 2005, 09:01:34 AM There is no way you went to this particular Mudfest in June... This particular event / location hasn't been open since what August of 2003 J.D.? fdatv you must be thinking of Mud, Sweat & Gears, or the C&R Mudhole in Palmdale. In any case, if you go to an event called Mudfest or Mud, Sweat & Gears and expect to have endless land to explore and trail ride at will, then yes, you will think it sucks. The folks at MSG have tried hard to accomodate everyone by offering guided trail rides as well as the mud pit. If it sucks so bad, do the rest of us a favor that enjoy the events and appreciate the effort, and stay home! If you want to do what is advertised, which is play in the mud, then come on! I am sick of people saying this sucks or that sucks when they have no clue what it takes to even put on an event of this nature.

Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: FORDFANZ on July 16, 2005, 11:36:03 AM couple hundred acres but no trails just a mud pits all over the property
Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: muddy garfield on July 19, 2005, 11:06:46 AM Oh my, you people are all over the place. No, this is not the Bamboo Mudstock event that the guy got a whole bunch of fines last year. That event was off of SR 714, but he is back open. Not much mud, but a good day to get out of the house event.
Mudfest is off of Hwy 70. There are several discussions going on about it on this site and the locals are even discussing it. You can call & get info at (863) 697-1167. They have not said no glass, but its always best to assume no. Glass just makes problems all around. There's not many trails, but lots of mud. Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: PureLogic on July 19, 2005, 07:39:53 PM I talked to John Sales the owner and operator of Okeechobee Mudfest and he opened up a thread for any questions. http://www.atvflorida.com/forum/index.php/topic,4929.0.html Glass bottles are allowed. Like said before no minors with out adults. REAL adults. There is camping. People with generators on one side of the compound and on the other side the rough necks. No Mudding or trail riding after dark. Only camp cruising. (cruising around to other camps checking people out.) Nudity. Up to the persons discretion. Gates do close at 7:00 or 8:00 pm depending on traffic. Swamp buggies, full tracks and any other wheeled mud riding vehicle is allowed except 3 wheelers. No fighting or underage drinking will be tolerated or you WILL be kicked out. MS&G has A security guard. This events got deputy’s. This is the one that has been closed for 2 years and now they are back.
Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: Busta Nutt on July 19, 2005, 08:11:36 PM Can you define for me "camping people with generator" and "rough neck". I need to figure out what side I would be on. ???
Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: qt314nfla on July 19, 2005, 09:20:14 PM Will you be camping wiff a generator or wiff not? If you'd be camping w/ a generator your on one side. If not you'll be stuck with me.
Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: 02YamahaBigBear400 on July 20, 2005, 03:40:12 AM ya roughing it would be tents or sleeping in the truck or being passed out on the ground and camping w/ a generator would be ac in a camper and possible showers. The choice is yours.
Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: Busta Nutt on July 20, 2005, 09:58:10 AM If QT314 is on the roughneck side I will be on the gentlmen with generators side.
I don't like that no muddin after dark that's when I'm just getting revved up. I don't like that no muddin after dark that's when I'm just getting revved up. It's not that I don't like or appreciate generators. I just don't have one or an RV yet. So until then it's sleeping in the truck w/ the A/C cranking. Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: Busta Nutt on July 21, 2005, 07:29:57 AM Come on QT I was joking with you. Title: Re: Okeechobee Mud Fest Post by: redmopar on July 21, 2005, 04:22:37 PM No bottles is not a problem for me. I like cans. You can crush them so they don't roll back and fourth when the cop pulls you over.
Quote It's not that I don't like or appreciate generators. I just don't have one or an RV yet. So until then it's sleeping in the truck w/ the A/C cranking. Keep in mind that it actually cools down in that part of the state at night, unlike down here. The average low is 73 in august. Check it out. http://www.weather.com/activities/driving/interstate/weather/climo-monthly-graph.html?locid=USFL0361 So us po folks who don't have an RV won't be suffering at least at night. He said it is HOT, damm HOT. Bring plenty of water and your own shade. Tarps, flys, tents, or whatever. He said there are no trees, and nowhere to get out of the sun. Also, he said bring bug repellant, lots of bug repellant! QT, Zilla954, Wiburzbro, and some others have already setup a camp and are going to try and hold some space. Hook up with them if you can find them. Lots of people are there already. Have fun, stay hydrated, and ride safe. See ya tomorrow.
