Title: Kyle Spradlin heading to Indy! Post by: Number84 on August 16, 2009, 10:50:07 PM Local ace Kyle Spradlin is heading to the Indy Mile, Saturday, August 29th. On Friday, August 28th he will be at the AMA Pro short track at Gas City, Indiana. Then on Sunday, spectating again at the MotoGP. Wish him well!
We are in the process of putting his Inspectabridge.com, wkr, Brett's Motorsports, DeCalWorks, Pit Posse.com Honda 450 back together. Freshened up the engine top to bottom with a new rod, Wiseco Kawasaki piston, and a wkr spec Webb cam. I'll update you guys as the weekend progresses. Qualifying is the first hurdle, then we settle in and have some fun. We'll be back soon to the Thunderbowl, as college allows. The Gas City, IN short track was rained out Friday night. That was the second year in a row, too. The promoter really had the track in great shape, it looked like a great racetrack.
At the Mile Kyle was 38th after the first session and his final qualifying position was 44th, just behind our buddy Jason "Lefty" Griffin. The cut off was 32 for the show. The track was really nice the first session, then got real tacky during the second session. Everyone was having trouble getting out of the corners. Kyle did great, especially considering he's only been on one 1/2 mile before. It was great experience for him. It doesn't get much cooler than haulin' ass on the "Indy Mile"!! If you didn't know, King Kenny rode the TZ750 dirttracker again Saturday night. Find it on YouTube. Man let me tell you NOTHING sounds like that thing on the mile!! Kenny ran it off in turn one and GRABBED a hand full of throttle---the place went nuts. He shifted at least 3 times on the straights. He ran 3 HOT laps and never let up once. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. That alone was worth the trip, beleive me. Anyway, thanks for everyones interest in Kyle's trip. He was the only rider from Florida! See you guys at the T-Bowl soon. Mike. |
