Title: Stay Away from - Computers Done Right Post by: dirtbuster2 on August 15, 2009, 07:17:55 PM FOr those of you that live in the Venice, Florida area and are in need of
computer repair, it is highly suggested to stay away from a business located\ at the Dome Flea Market called "Computers Done Right". I took a lap top there today to have them look at it as it would not boot] up. They said they would without mentioning that there was a fee to do so. Filled out their little info card and left it with them. They said that they would let me know about it in two or three hours. Well fifteen minutes at the most past when I got a call from them stating the hard drive was shot. It would be $100 for a new drive and another $150 for the operating system install totalling $250. Decided that it wasn't worth it so went back in to get it an let them know that we weren't going to get it fixed as I could buy a new one for just a little more money. Then the owner informs me that there is a $50 fee for telling me what was wrong with it. I was up set that this had not been stated when I dropped it off. The owner was extreemely rude at this point stating "we don't work for free". I told him that this was pretty outrageous for not telling me this up front when I dropped it off and that there was no rate charts or anything else to infor customers of any fee's for any of their services. After words were exchanged about this being poor business practice on his part he did lower it to $25. Now had it told me up front about the fee, I would have had no problem in paying it. But I feel that this is really some shady business practice on his part. To further make this matter worse, while a employee was providing me with a reciept for the $25 I seen on his own computer where the fee for this service was only $39.95, the same fee as listed on his web site, of which I have since visited. SO just to play it safe I would not recommed this business to anyone. I feel that their services are shady at best, and seems that their rates change from customer to customer so this would make me wonder about their actual service. When a business is straight up and provides a customer with all information from the beginning, I will be the first to use them, and use them again and recommend them to others. This one I will not and suggest that you do not as well Title: Re: Stay Away from - Computers Done Right Post by: Mudneck on August 19, 2009, 08:02:03 AM Hi welcome to the site. ;D Do you own an ATV or just a broken laptop? :o
