Title: Mud Tires
Post by: Yamaha72 on June 14, 2005, 09:31:44 PM
In my opinion Vamps are the best, Outlaws are only good for sloppy mud, Mudzillas are to heavy and cost too much, Mudbugs just stink, and the 589's are only good for the stock bikes... ;) ;)

You would be surprised what the mudbugs go through. I have them mine and I'm usually pushing someone when I get stuck. I go any where I want and most of the time in 2WD.

Mudbuggs are a great pulling tire, they pull great in clay, mud and sand. I couldn't find anything else to go thru. There amazing for the price.

Mudlights are great in the mud, but self destruct on the hard surfaces. For that reason I'm going with the ITP 589's even though they are heavy.

589s are very light and awsome grip vamps are good also had both the vams ride real rough to me

everyone has talked me into 27's stead of 26's.

I'm going to have to go with 29.5 Outlaws as the best mud tire. The big lugs clean out easily and cruise through the real thick stuff, the side lugs also give some nice added traction in the real bad ruts. I used to run gators and it was a night and day difference. The downside is if you don't know how to drive an ATV with mud tires you will bury them quick. In the thick or soupy mud you just cruise through at low speed and they go through most anything, add too much wheel speed and you bury it.

Just my $.02

Bill

both my bikes honda 300 and bigbear both have 27 vampires and i can pretty much go anywhere i want. its also a combination or speed and rider on how well you go through something. but as mentioned above the vamps do ride a little rough on the hard surface. i tend to stay off of the hard ground and ride in the mud.
