There has to power to the diff for it to go into 4WD.  The hilliard clutch in the front diff may be stuck. The hilliard is engaged by 12volts. If the power is removed and it is still in 4wd then you may have to take it apart to see what is up with the hilliard.

A great site for polaris is www.atvquadsquad.com under the Polaris section. Smart Popo people there. Very smart.

try atvconnection.com in the polaris section.  I know for the 2006 sp 500 efi the front diff is the same as on a john deere and u can get a rebuild kit for it under john deere that is alot cheaper then getting the rebranded polaris parts.  My brother rebuilt his front diff from a loss of oil and not checking.

stupid question... did you put fluid in it when you installed it? most people dont ship parts with fluid in them. If you did put fluid in it what did you use? I have heard that a certain type of automatic transmission fluid works, but I always stick with polaris fluids.
