PLEASE, PLEASE HELP WITH ONE OF OUR FELLOW RIDERS DOWN..

There will be a benefit Dinner for Jason Roberts on Saturday, 16 May 2009 from 6pm till midnight at the VFW, 124 South Tuttle Ave, Sarasota, Fl 34237. Menu includes: Grilled tenderlion, Baked chicken, Mac and cheese, veggies, finger foods and so much more. We will have a DJ spinning our favorite songs, Cash Bar, and tons of door prizes. Make your plans now to come and invite everyone you know. Tickets are now on sale and all are invited for a Donation of $20.00 per person. We have 180 tickets to sale for this and it will probaly be the best nite outting in Sarasota county all year.

For all: Jason was a fellow ATV rider, Father, Veteran, and member of Northport Off Road Assoc and was seriously injuried while riding with his family on Feb 28th. Jason severly broke his neck and since undergone surgery to repair his neck and spine. Jason has since been transferred to rehab to try and regain the complete use of both legs. He is well on his way and working harder everyday and plans on attending this dinner.

Hey, Jim, for those of us on the other coast of Florida that may want to contribute a few bucks to help he and his family, maybe you could post who we could mail a check to or who we could send a bit of cash too.  A bunch of small donations of $5 or $10 bucks or so could add up quickly.  This is very nice of you.  Dawn

I put on a benefit for a friend who was left blind and unable to use his arms after a drunk illegal alien pulled in front of him on his Harley and then left him for dead while he left the scene after he threw the beer cans out of his car.  It is a lot of work.  That is awesome you guys are doing that for him. 

One of the things I did was email a ton of hotels and ask if they would be willing to donate a room for a night and then auction them off.  I also contacted as many restaurants as I could find and emailed them asking them if they could donate any gift certificates no matter how small.  We would put a couple restaurant gift certificates in with the rooms or hold raffles for the certs.  I contacted all the golf courses and asked them to donate 4 somes.  With summer coming a lot should be willing to do that.  I contacted fishing charters.  It is probably too late for the next part, but I also got signed footballs from the Nick Sabin and a couple other people from the Dolphins.  I contacted Nascar drivers for signed stuff.  Ended up with stuff from Tony Stewart and Earnhardt.  They even sent us some old stuff from Dale, Sr.  Just email whoever you can and ask for stuff.  The worst that can happen is they say no or don't respond.  We put fliers up in bars and on Publix community board.  I did put on the emails that the event was 1 week before it was just to get the responses in time.  We made over 10 grand.  Good luck with your benefit.  You are a nice guy to help.  Dawn
