Title: Love My Rhino
Post by: digginfool on April 11, 2009, 10:02:05 PM
The wife and I went to RR this weekend and only took the Rhino.  It was my first opportunity to drive it (the wife likes it so much she won't let me - I have to stay on the Outlander).  I absolutely love the Rhino.  The seating position is perfect; the pivot point is exactly in line with the seats so you don't get beat-up on long whooped-out sections.  My only complaint is lack of lighting.  Even though there was a full moon Friday night, even with the brights on, I was wanting more.  Who has a light bar and what brand are you using?  The only one I've seen so far that I like is the Seizmik.  Give me a shout and let me know if there is something better out there.

We love ours also. Goin to remove the swaybar myself before takin to Yamaha for the free wheel spacer. Dont want them to keep it if I dont like the change in the suspension Look for us sometime at RR. Cant miss us have not seen one like ours at the ranch. Flames and snake skin print in the plastics

Free wheel spacer?  Is this some type of recall?  Also, are you talking about the stock sway bar or an aftermarket?

greg call yamaha dealer or google rhino recall yes free spacers and doos if you don't have them and they remove the sway bar but that is better if you do it cause at least you keep it if you want you put it back if you like it better

I love my rhino 2 take the swaybar off you'll never put it back on I have yet to miss it.  As far as lights just get some HID stock replacments is what I did after I installed 3 Hellas on the front bumper haven't used them since my HID install.

The dealer will install 2 one inch wheel spacers on the rear free of charge. They are not calling it a recall just a maintenance upgrade for rollover safety. You will get a letter in the mail. Removing the sway gar is suppose to give you more suspension travel. The sway bar on the rhino is short, the one on my 09 ranger allows more travel. We will not be back to the ranch until May going to Callalantee just outside Bristol Tn in  2 weeks

I have I cant tell a difference in body roll but cant see the tires to say if they stay planted better in the mud but on hard ground in off camber situations all 4 stay on the ground more

The RZR acts the same as you guys are describing on the Rhino, I did the same thing, I disconnected the sway bar got about 6 inches more travel but I did get more body roll.  If you do more casual riding and/or mud I don't think you will find much body roll, only under higher speeds.  Not trying to hijack this thread just thinking it does the same.

Thanks we enjoy it. I do not notice the extra suspension travel at the ranch. Got into some rock crawling and creeks in tn. Noticed it then.

Wow just got the rhino back from the update. They put 2" spacers on the rear instead of 1" as the paperwork I got said. Now the 27" ITP stick out of the flare about 21/2". If you have update done have them give you the video to watch, free helmet up to $100. Got a cool helmet for my daughter.

When you guys ride in the sugar sand at the ranch do you ride in high or low.  Mine has plenty of power in high but i heard it will run cooler and better in low.

I ride High all ways, low is for pulling or towing or deep mud. I run Terra Cross 26's which pull great in all conditions out there. When its real dry & powdery if I'm 4 up in the Rhino sometimes Ill drop it in 4x4 High just to pull a bit easier. Not the whole ride just for short distances in sand.
