Title: Warrior carb adjustment and jet size Post by: Justardnck on March 17, 2009, 09:59:22 PM I have a 2003 Yamaha Warrior 350 with a DG pipe, the throttle has a serious flat spot when hitting full throttle from idle. I was told that it might not have been jetted when they put the pipe on it. I will be restoring the pipe to factory and want to rejet the car with factory jets (incase they're aftermarket) can anybody give we the air /fuel mix adjustments and also the factory jet sizes?
Thanks Title: Re: Warrior carb adjustment and jet size Post by: TRX450R_Racer on March 17, 2009, 10:15:35 PM Dana,
My buddy might have a stock pipe. I will check with him tomorrow. I don't remember what we jetted his at but I'm sure I can help you one way or another. Troy's cousin has a 350 Raptor and he wanted to trade me his stock pipe for my DG but I don't know if it'll work. The carb was fairly gummed up but we took it apart and cleaned the jets so it runs and idles much better but still has that nasty dead spot My buddy might have a stock pipe. Go to bikebandit.com You can check the stock jet size there. I believe 2 turn out on the air screw was stock. Now I have a guy that says he'll soak the carb to try to clean it deeper.Go to bikebandit.com You can check the stock jet size there. I believe 2 turn out on the air screw was stock. Title: Re: Warrior carb adjustment and jet size Post by: Mars on March 24, 2009, 09:51:03 PM Nothing in that carb you need to soak. 5.0 jet? Jets are 42.5, 125, 127.5 etc.
If it idles well and runs well 3/4 to full throttle and you still have a flat spot the needle is not set right or the main is just too big. I just want to get rid if this pipe and restore the carb to factory original and be rid of these issues. I don't race and have no reason or want for this obnoxiously loud pipe and people tell me the pipe is the cause of the flat spot in the carb which I have a hard time believing but I keep hearing it.If it idles well and runs well 3/4 to full throttle and you still have a flat spot the needle is not set right or the main is just too big.
Okay. I was thinking you may be getting screwed out of some $. I've had three Warriors. Super reliable in stock trim. If you need a little more pep Super Trap pipes work well on them without too much noise and usually just one jet size (main jet)larger than stock is on the money. Best of luck.
This will be my 3rd one in 12 years and even though there are many faster bikes I find the Warrior to be a happy medium to all of my needs... quick but not crazy fast, nimble, easy to ride and handle and reliable. I had a 1987 back in 1996 then I bought a 1998 (new) in 1998 and now a used 2003 on 2009. Back in the day they were the bad boy 4 strokes and the Banshee owned the 2 strokes. |
