Title: Macks on krome ave Post by: carrotd1 on February 24, 2009, 09:58:17 PM Went there this Saturday and was turned away by some guy in a jeep. He said he is not allowing anyone to ride there. He told everyone who pulled in there the same thing. He said if we stayed he would tow my truck and trailer. I assume the road leading to the camp might be his put is the entrance and boat ramp off of Krome ave Macks property? Been riding and parking there forawhile with never a problem. The man said atv are tearing up the dirt road leading to the camp and that we use the road but dont buy anything at the camp. He also said that some riders ran over a girl in the trailer park across the street. I havent heard anything about that and I see people in there cars and truck hauling butt down that dirt road to the fish camp. There are no signs posted saying no parking or for Macks Fish Camp only. Anybody outhere have any info.. Really stinks to lose another place to ride..Thanks

Title: Re: Macks on krome ave Post by: JackL on March 09, 2009, 10:22:02 AM My buddies ran into that guy in the white jeep. They told him have a nice day as they crossed Krome to ride. They can not legally tow your vehicle from the boat ramp. What if you had a boat on the trailer...?
Title: Re: Macks on krome ave Post by: miassmaro98 on March 09, 2009, 04:42:44 PM i ran into a guy claiming he pays for the land and two cops never saw a white jeep
Title: Re: Macks on krome ave Post by: carrotd1 on March 09, 2009, 05:04:28 PM The jeep is green. The land that starts from the Welcome to macks fish camp sign "please wear your helmet" is theres. He cant have your truck towed but he can call the FWC and police and they can if they believe you are tresspassing. Tresspassing would be the land being riden on the south side of Krome ave. FWC was there this weekend just waiting for people to come in and tell them to leave. The place is shut down. Not because of so called tresspassing but beacause of stupid riders going into the trailer park raising hell and riding up and down Krome ave. I asked the FWC what the problem was and that was his answer. I did mention the fact that i go canoeing and fishing there and I use the same trailer as I do to haul my quads. He said that the only way the vehicle can be towed is if it is proven that the owner is tresspassing. You will recieve a ticket when you get back to your truck if the police are there or FWC if you are caught on your quad.. So if you want to tell the guy in the jeep to go fly a kite chances are you will have someone waitng there for you with a ticket or maybe you will be riding your quad all the way home...
Title: Re: Macks on krome ave Post by: 300 quadrunner on March 09, 2009, 07:00:44 PM was it a kid with a calcutta camo hat? if so he isnt anyone special, also keith and marshal, allow riding, and aknowledge the fact that there property is used for parking,, even though they would like to see more business at thier camp store, they dont stop people from riding, and the girl that got ran over, that was from the parties they have out there, and i witnessed the accident, drunk underaged girl, came and walked into the truck, made a big deal out of nothing, but if you are thirsty stop by the store and grab a coke, they would appreciate it

Yes, they said it was a green jeep. Considering I do not see any no tresspassing sign on the south side entrance, and that land is owned by SFWMD and FPL I am not sure who that guy thinks he is, but he can pound sand as far as I am concerned. Another thing, Keith and Marshal own that trailer park so I don't know what the hell this FWC guy was talking about. Sounds like total BS. Yes, the I don't get why everyone is saying going down the ramp is illegal. It most certainly is not, it is impossible right now unless you are Jesus, but you won't get a ticket unless you are caught on the levy. If someone has some real information from a gov site that disputes any of this, I would love to see it. I have been riding this area for 30+ years and know a bit about it. I should ride out and have a few drinks with them. Both have saved me in the middle of the night with an ice cold case of beer many, many times....and once with a sparkplug. You can park at Krome and ride the quad out to the fishcamp and fish and drink beer, or swim with the gators legally.
Wait for night to go to the east side. It is more fun then anyway...lol Title: Re: Macks on krome ave Post by: miassmaro98 on March 17, 2009, 11:58:27 PM crazy i went sunday and again cops told me to leave i argue with them but went to 8st
