Title: Whats the best weekend for croom?
Post by: zman03 on January 17, 2009, 09:18:23 PM
I am trying to plan a Croom trip and would like to know if the weekend after the Superbowl would be good?     Is there a better weekend? I would not like it to be too crowded.  Does anyone live nearby or go all the time that would know?

Been crowded the last few weekends. There have been empty camping spots the last few weekends but it has been cold. The least crowded weekend is the weekend after the permit expires in the middle of the year.

Thanks exrider, The info is greatly appreciated!!!!        Me and some buddies will be going the weekend of the 14th and wanna get a camping spot.  I have been there on hot weekends (100 degrees) and we have gone on weekends that its like 30 degrees.   the  cold is awesome for ridin!!!    Croom is for me the ultimate playground!!!!!!!!!!!      I love the fast, technical trails.  This place test your skill and stamina along with the rollercoaster-like feel of the trails.    I will be coming from Miami and the 300 mile drive is worth every mile!!!!!!          I only wish I could move there to be able to go every weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll likely be there. It was packed last Saturday. The front pit has been way too crowded lately. Make sure to get a camping spot early. They've been going like hotcakes. There are at least a few from our group every weekend. I'll PM you if I head up there.

b]Try going a few extra miles till you hit the sand dunes in California (Glamis) - There is no better riding - within the first ten minutes of riding the 40+ miles of sand dunes you'll forget all the miles you just traveled to get there.[/b]
