has anyone been there latly   and no the condition ??????  dry or alot of water

still plenty of water out there, got buried there half a dozen times last week, had a blast

i was out there to had my green eiger on the trailer after 5 min of ride broke rear axle and tire came off it was on the back of a jacked up ranger on sunday morning

i live 5 minutes from there. i havent missed a weekend in about 3 months. i drive a blue 660 grizzly out there. im always in a big group with brute forces and honda's. couple weeks ago i met some cool people with one a rhino, other with a rzr, and one with a t-rex or something. one of the guys sank there brute in there. his name was fast jorge and he drives banshees. if any1 knows him tell him to give me a call, it was cool riding with him and his friends. my number is 305-710-7596. i rode today and there's still alot fo waterin some spots. u really need to watch where ur going. and mud is really sticky and thick. do over do it and winch out. im not going tomorrow cause i have a job bunchlunch tomorrow. maybe late during the day i can meet up.

oh and riding with jorge i found out the pit is nowwelcoming bikes again. good ass burgers and chicken sandwich.

i just went on sunday and it was awsome! really muddy  around the flipped/burnt down totota are, went stucking in that particular area for like 3 hours.. gonna do it again this weekend.   however they put up like 50 no parking signs, along bird rd. but everyone parked inside. probably 100 trucks.. any one else going out there this weekend?

haha thats funny they finally put up signs, you can just park inside, no biggie.

that sucks they are running us out of south fl.  If I had money I would sponsor some land.  I am going this sat with 4 other people.  BF 750, AC 700, sportsman 500, and 2 hondas

Its those jack ass's that have to ride and do wheelies in the street that F it up for everyone.
All that land but they have to ride in the street.
Just like when we were kids and to one or two jackoffs F it up for everyone.

yea we were getting dust blown all over when we were all out there...it sucks.  we should enforce it ourselves more...

I was out there last sat and a spoty quad ripped it right next the the vehicles and threw rocks all over these guys.  They were pissed.  I had a sport quad for a year and never did a hole things that make us stand out for the worse.

That jacked up jeep got stuck by the lake and his buddy had to come pull him out.  I left after watching the jeep stuck for an hour and it was getting dark.

I had one too 07 yfz450...thats why i get so mad when people do that stuff...kills our 'image' as responsible riders, and I got by without doing that junk...

I was watching them pull that jeep out by the lake as well.I was in my RZR and my buddy was on his rhino,we also had a outlander 800 with us.I was out there 3 diffrent times last week and had a blast each time.I like to stay south of that canal on bird road tho,there is some realy nice trails there and you dont have to hassle with others or THE MAN.

I want to see your buggy out there.

RZR does well,however it tends to bottom out alot.I ordered my liftkit last night and also unhooked the front swaybar wich made a world of difference.Other than that I have a blast with it.The trails im speaking of are somewhat dry but also misleading.My buddy on the rhino hit a small rut and the next thing you know i was winching him and 2 4x4 atvs out heh.

its not that    its when i see new post i was getting exited thinkin it was gonna b update on how wet it is or what time we gonna meet and ride there.   then when i  get to bottom of page its tlking bout a rhino..     :(

Just got a new King quad 750, got rid of my Outlander 800. Can someone give me directions to this place? Obv I know where 8st is, but where is the entrance to get in and park? Is it by the gun range?

I am going somewhere tomorrow..  8th st,,,  big cypress,,,, or Holeylands, if I can find someone with another utv to ride with.  Utv's are allowed in Holeylands.   Anyone up to hit the camps?

8th Steet is illegal.

Holeylands are closed to ATV's.

The camps in the Big Cypress and Holylands are private property and you shouldn't be riding around them at all.

Won't be long and the Big Cypress will be closed to ATV's as well.

No, definitley don't stay home. However, if you're going to ride, just do so in a legal area and in a proper manner. That way, you and I and everyone will have places to ride in the future. The last thing we need is more areas clased to us because of stupidity and illegal action.

Stupidity is what got the Holeylands closed to ATV's and is the same thing that will likely get the Big Cypress closed to ATV's within the next 2-3 years. I sit on the ORV Committee for the Big Cypress and I've seen the anti-ATV establishment pull out pictures of 8th Street, the Humps and the Holeylands to support their arguments for banning ATV's all together in the Big Cypress. Lately however, they've got lots and lots of ammo just from the influx of idiots that now think the Big Cypress is an ORV park. It's really looking bad because of the increased ATV use. Yet again, it's that 20% that make the other 80% of us look bad.

So, go ahead, laugh and make fun of it. Meanwhile, I'm dedicating an enormous amount of my time and money to keeping areas open for people like you to ride. Unfortunately, its the very people we're fighting hardest for that make it difficult for us to win in the end. I fear it won't be long before we lose even more places to ride as a result.

At that point I guess it would be time to dust off the waverunner  ;)

And no offence here Reality but Ive read alot of your posts and it seems that maybe your superior Intelligence would be better suited for some kind of political forum.

All Im looking to do is ride untill I get too old or just bored of it. I really dont care about the politics of the sport.

all i no i ride my ATV   in a recreational ride. i am not part of a sport i ride for fun  so i guess i am neither in 20% or the 80%

lol   sorry guys let me try agian.     when i bout my atv   i bought a recreatinal vehicals.   there fore i ride for fun. i did not do  or go to any of the races  that make rideing and atv for sport use.  i just ride my atv for fun  and enjoyment to me.   i keep hearing everyone making our sport look bad  and the 20  and 80%     well i just ride for fun not for a sport  so  i   guess i dont fit in any of the %

My understanding of the 80/20% thing has nothing to do with riding for fun.  It just the theory a few ruin it for many.  I may be wrong who knows  :dunno.gif

some one has got the idea i was trying tog et across   u all say its runing our sport      the only way raideing an  atv is sport is if u race xc tt or mx   than its a sport    relity is so dang smart he cant    relize the small thing witch in the end makes him as dumb as a box of rocks

yea i went to comercail and  hiatis    another illagal spot   for bout an hour  just wanted  to run my bike because its been sitting   awhile  i going to l cross   this friday    a legal spot   aent you so happy    reality??????

yes you will be served just park in the grass area next to bathrooms and walk up to window if it is a lot of you just tell the nice ladies they will come out and take your order. BE NICE they are willing to even set up some tables for us but the city is not allowing them. Spanish helps because all the waitress are spanish hotties but they speak english

I agree with you on the illegal riding.  I have only been to 8th st one time a couple of weeks ago.  I didn't like all the trash around, it was alot worse than holeylands in that regard.  It is legal to ride utv's in holeylands as long as it has a 60" wheel base..  And hitting the camps doesn't mean I am out there trashing them.. It just gives me a destination when I am riding.  You kind of need somewhere to go, makes it more fun.   

You also have so many atv's in big cypress because they do not have anywhere to go.  It is the only legal place for them to ride...   So at least they are riding in a legal spot, that is if they completed all the requirements. 

By the way, I didn't even go riding this weekend because I didn't have anyone to go with... :'(   I stayed home and did yard work I was putting off.

The 80/20 rule has nothing to do with whether or not you considder riding an ATV a sport or not. Now, about those rocks 4x4matt....they're falling out of your ears.

I drove by on saturday about 2:45 and saw atleast 30 cars and trucks. Did not see a single person racing up and down the street, If this stays this way maybe the police will not hassle anyone for riding there?   Thanks to all that stayed off the street!!!  It would be great to set up a clean up ride one day!!!

I will bring the bags you tell me what day and what time. Today I saw atleast 20 cars and trucks only one idiot driving a small dirtbike on the street from the neighborhood probably. I was checking on Miamidade.gov for property lines and who owns what,pretty complicated,lots of small 50x100 lots. Where every one parks is a 5 acre parcel. You gotta check it out ,just do a property search .   

sweet clean it up make it look good    so i can go drop  some more stuff out there  lol   i beat  6  bikes on that street   the other day also ;)     and that hot dog guy dont evan speak english  lol  i love america

bout time some ele ride like man   more beer than miles  is always a fun ride i found my new group   see and we drop beer cans to rember how tog et back to the truck

I use to ride there just about every weekend up to a year ago. Might be time for another ride out there. Or maybe BC.

I might be canceling on the Saturday ride since work changed my schedule.
But if i get it off I will be out there on a Black Rancher and my friend has a red Foreman .  I'm typically easy to spot as I am normally the only blonde girl out there with a bike  ::)

That is 'eight hours' of playpen mud makin me look like a brotha. ;) Funny that the vibrations from the genny shook most of it off. It is a real shame the guy who took the pic didn't also catch the pile of dried mud on the floor. Must  have been 18" high. haha

It is a fine line between 'going to sleep' and 'passing out' when you have been riding nearly THREE straight days and consumed enough beer and liquor to kill three guy.


Shame they had a ban on fires out there at the time, I would have much preferred to sleep next to a warm pit, but who risks burning down a camp when you can find another place to get out of your soaking wet cloths in 45 degree weather...



Back to the subject. Who is riding 8th this weekend. Should I go fix my front dif or not.../

i justed ordered my driveshaft i snap on my grizzly, and ima start heading out there again. i been seeing people park on 8th st and riding in from there. so i dont know. i live 5 minutes away so i dont have to worry about parking. i usally go with 3 or 4 bikes

drive down 8st and theres a dirt road by the pit bbq, drive down it and it leads to the lake. its not muddy at all, just water you can make it with a stock truck. its a long way to the lake though.

Yes there is a gate and plenty of no tresspassing signs for atvs, this land is patrolled by FWC and you will get a ticket!   Its hit or miss out there, a couple weeks of riding then all of a sudden FWC goes out one weekend and starts giving out tickets.  If you like sand ,next to the stadium on 27ave is a cool place!!! but you gotta go like between 9am-12noon then you gotta go cause the natives come out after 12noon 

yeah i drove out there today its blocked off....maybe you could try to park at the pit and ride in?

Its a shame this area has been shut down, it was an awesome place to ride.  I was there back in Mar and got stopped by Miami-Dade's finest as we were leaving.  The LEOs were primarily interested in catching dumpers and just asked if we had seen any.  They didn't give us a hard time or any warning about riding there.  I've never encountered FWC but have heard many horror stories.

I'll be heading over there or to the Hump tomorrow.  Last time I parked on 8st on a Fri someone broke into my truck.  I'm sure we'll have a good ride at either site.  They both have plenty of water and mud.  I saw on the news last night that the Everglades is getting overrun by large Pythons.  Has anyone encountered one?
