Title: Ban on 4 wheelers in Suburban Estates?
Post by: vspec1 on November 12, 2008, 10:13:35 PM
A friend of mine told me today that he had heard that 4 wheelers were going to be banned on Jan 1st 2009?  :F  Anyone know if there is any truth to this? Or who I might contact to find out? I really cant see this happening

I do know that two weeks ago, two more people were airlifted out of there.  Two four-wheelers, head on, on the south-end.  Never heard how the people were doing, but I know that speed, yet again, was a factor.  One can never tell what the County could do, with all the Life Flights that been going on in there lately, nothing would surprise me.

Also to add this...  Recently a HUGE chunk of land was purchased, and redefined as "Florida Wet-Lands".  And besides the fact the State of Fla has been after that for years....

Don't kid yourselves ppl, between the State of Florida and all the accidents out there, nothing would surprise me.  I do know the State of Fla would want nothing more then to ban 4-wheelers out there.  Am I pist, nope, why.  Because we have no-one to blame but ourselves.  Grant it, we may not be the ones hauling butt out there, tearing the place up, and throw our trash all over the place, but to the State it is all the same.  Just another example of how PEOPLE can ruin it for other people.

It keeps going the way it is, either the hunters will run all the 4-wheelers out of there, or the State, which ever comes first.  Because that land has been so disrespected, that it just disgusting....

I think the State has bigger things to worry about right now.....like their budget

How much do you think it cost the County to send the Specialized Fire Trucks out there?

How much do you think is cost the County every time it sends Life Flight out there, and the person ain't insured?

Now how much do you pay in property taxes out there, dude, do the math, that alone should give ppl something to be concerned about.  And unless and until ppl stop using it as a "recreational ATV" place, which it is not, it is just putting SE further and further in the spot light.

SE is basically recreational hunting area, that is what it truly is.  And the sooner it gets back to that, the better, in my opinion....

you know as well as I know that its not going back to a hunting-only area....unless they outlaw ATVs out there.......there are WAY more people that ride than hunt out there
