Title: The phrase "Only in America" Post by: IXIswamperIXI on November 07, 2008, 04:15:45 PM People always use the phrase land of opportunity to describe how great USA is. (which I agree) But when people use the phrase "only in America" to describe what people do in America. It bothers me. Is it just me or does it always come off as a negative remark trying to be funny on a remark against America??? :dunno.gif
PS yes I am board, just thinking LOL Title: Re: The phrase "Only in America" Post by: quadracer1992 on November 07, 2008, 08:20:39 PM Please stop with the political remarks! I havent been on atvflorida in over a month due to these stupid posts.

I wont comment on which side uses it the most .
Title: Re: The phrase "Only in America" Post by: IXIswamperIXI on November 08, 2008, 12:05:20 PM I can see how that phrase was used in the elections but I really wasn't talking about the election. I just had an argument with someone and thier last words were "only in America" as if it was a bad thing to live in America.

LOL no that doesn't bother me... thats kinda like the old drive on a parkway, park in a driveway thing. I mean more along the lines of when someone makes it here in America and when someone else describes it they say "Only in America" To me isn't that why we are living in America, for the opportunities to better yourself and your family?
