Title: Reputable Mechanic? - Orlando Area
Post by: asmart82 on November 05, 2008, 01:27:01 PM
I've got a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo that is leaking power steering fluid.  Not sure where it is coming from but I'm guessing its coming from the pump seals.  I could be wrong though!  I was going to attempt to change it out myself, but for some reason, GM decided to place the thing in the back of the engine as far down as it could go and I am not comfortable trying to replace it myself.  Stupid design if you ask me.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew of a GOOD mechanic in the Orlando area that works on GM vehicles.  I am very particular about who works on any of my vehicles, which is why I do most of the stuff myself.  If I don't work on it myself, I take it to the dealership and let them rape me, but I just don't have the money to do that right now.  If I can't find one that I feel comfortable with, I will refill it with some Lucas Stop Leak and hope that works.  Otherwise I will just keep refilling the pump till it breaks or I can afford to have it fixed by the dealership.

Sloans Automotive on Michigan near Ferncreek.  Very reputable and won't do any non needed work.  I used to do all my own mechanic work, however with the new cars its just not cost effective (and because everything is electronic) for me to do my own work anymore

Is there any certain person I should speak with there?
