Title: does any one know what kind of snake this is???

ive had two of these bad boys in my garge in the past mounth.i looked at every florida snake pic on ggole images and could not find it.when  amd the curl up into a circle and strike and are very agressive there pretty skinny and about 1.5-2 feet long.

I think that is a Rat snake, but not totally sure.

You may have to check other types like commonly kept snakes.  Florida has a lot of different species from past hurricanes and damage to zoos to people having pets and then letting them and the flourish  here in Florida.  It is odd that it coiled up and strikes,  I thought only viper types did that.  I am NO expert though.  Just try thinking OUTSIDE THE BOX though. Just trying to open you up to other options.

cornbacked rattler   lmao      no common corn or rat snake  any snake will coil up when threated

Looks like a simple Red Rat Snake to me

If it was om my yard, he would be a dead snake. I hate snakes, poisonous or not.

I'm with you Yunt. That does look like a rat snake though.

That is a grey rat snake, haven't seen one of those in a long time. He WAS a very beneficial snake to have around . They eat mice, rats and roaches. The reason he was in your yard was because you must have had some of those critters there for him to eat.  He was coiled and striking because he was scared.  Left alone he would have wandered off hoping to never see you again.

well  i would have just  picked him up and let him go like the first one but my pappys a big baby when it comes to snakes so i eliminated the fear for him i gess you can say.he thinks im crazy to want to pick up all the snakes that i find i think its from watching to much roc hunter???

BTW so it none poisoness and it eats rats and bugs?? Ive never seen any rat mice or any rodents around here plus he was a bit to skinny to eat Even a baby mouse when i had him in my hand he had his mouth fully open and a small Florida cockroach would fit in there but no rat.

Looks like a trouser snake, their venom only affects women.

 Looks like a little rat snake they make great pets. Id be more afraid of a hamster than that.
