Title: UTV Racing
Post by: jayman on September 21, 2008, 09:42:37 AM
So Brady has/will create a new class if we can get a few more entries.  UTV TT Racing.  The wife did some practice last weekend with her RZR and we had a ball.  Even Brady got out there in the RZR and I saw a smile through his helmet  :D.  We are hopeful to get a few out there in the rhinos and Rzrs to create a class.  I believe that Brady will have his rhino and then of course our Rzr.  Anyone else interested in creating a class that will be as fun for you to race as it is fun for the spectators to watch?  It will require a driver and passenger!  Please reply to this post if you are thinking of trying it out.

I read that Brady will be announcing the race schedule soon so keep looking.  I believe in that post I read that the first race will be 10/04/08!!!!!!

There will be a UTV class at every TT race.

Hey Brady what kind of safety gear besides helmets is required?

Helmet, gloves, and for you.....shoes  ;D

UTV's will be required to have a driver and a passenger. Functional seat belts will be required for both.

Lets see........going fast........holding on to who knows what for dear life until knuckles turn white.........my safety will depend on the crazy person driving........have no control on what happens........cussing the driver the entire time........praying it will come to an end!!!!!!!

What A Deal!!!!!!

I don t think so..

I saw the golf cart doing doughnuts in the grass during the rain last Saturday.......you start a senior class with golf carts and I could lobby all the retired residents of St Pete (which is most of them) to come

And to imagine that I agreed to ride in the passenger seat while THE WIFE sits in the drivers seat :drink.gif

What's the deal with the passenger. I can borrow my old rhino but, I don't want anything to do with a passenger.

How are the UTV's going to be scored since there are 2 people in the UTV?  Are you still scoring one person or will it be by the machine?

You could make it interesting by having a driver change. That way you could score the drivers individually. Make the pit area where you enter the track. Make it where you either have to change after half-way or say after 2 laps , but the passenger has to drive at least one lap. Could make for some real fun!

For now they will be scored off of the driver who registers, and the number on the machine- just like any other race with a motorcycle, quad, kart, etc.

I like the driver change idea. That's a cool idea for a "special" type race.

what happens if say the driver does a heat and the passenger does the other heat.  I guess that would be fine as long as the driver registered drives for the actual race  :dunno.gif

OK, let me clarify.

The driver that registers the UTV will drive for both heat races and the feature race. There will be no changing of drivers back and forth.

If the was a "team" race, it would be a special event, not a normal thing. In that case, the driver and passenger would pull over in a designated area and switch places during the actual race.

Gotcha   :deal.gif

Only asking because there may be some that are interested but would both like to drive for the race.  I thought maybe it would help get some more UTVs out there.

I don't know who Brady is but I have a RZR and if the race is in FL I'll go for it.  Where can I get info on the race?

We miss racing at the bowl.. Had a great time up there.  Unfortunately I do not think that the new management will allow utv's though I am not sure as I have not been racing for some time now.  We finally bought the house then I just lost my job so we will be out for a little longer.

I would suggest you getting in touch with ward or shawn reqarding a utv flat track class
