Farther than that...

we have been riding plant bamboo, l-cross, c&r and a few other spots.  Unless you know landowners for holopaw or RR

Humps is illigal.

8th street is illigal.

Not trying to be a worry ward, but I used to ride 8th all the time...it's completely fenced off, sure you can get in still, but it's a HUGE ticket for tresspassing.  The cops don't mess around down there either.

why has no one sued broward county for racketeering?  If you allow the sale of off-road vehicles yet its illegal to use and the county(broward) has not one single legal place to ride or use these products is this not racketeering?  what about the land next to the old pepsi air dania track? this could be a start!, with the prices of land and houses taking a major plunge, nows the time!!!!!!!!!   someone in broward please step up to the plate and start a group or petition and bring this to the attention of you county officials!!!!!!!     if it is legal to sell it should be legal to use!!!!   thats how countyline got started in Miami,Fl.   after protest from the group atvmiaxtreme the county realized they had to have a legal place,( to cover their butts) from all the protest ,a guy named pete scalzo saw an opportunity to make a fast buck and get the county to lease him a old county park that was not being used and the rest is history        If someone will do something I would bet the county (broward) would realize we have to cover our butts!!!!       or we could be sued,            guys you have a VALID CLAIM!!!!!!!!!!  BROWARD ALLOWS THE SALE BUT NOT THE USE OF OFF-ROAD VEHICLES ANYWHERE    NOT ONE SINGLE LEGAL SPOT IN BROWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!       SOMEBODY PLEASE LETS DO SOMETHING IN BROWARD COUNTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rincon, 03 grizz has some major known problems, including axles.  The rincon will run forever, and this is coming from a yami owner and i'm definetly not a honda fan!

Title: Re: Broward County Riding
Post by: JOE3504x4 on September 10, 2008, 10:11:32 PM
thanks man I was leaning towards the rincon, my only concern is low end torque... i dont think the rincon has a low gear where the grizzly does

On another note... Anybody have any thoughts about a decision I need to make?  03 Rincon or 03 Grizzly 660...

I'm a Honda Die Hard Fan. I own a 06 Rincon.... If I could go back in time, I would give it back and get a foreman. It runs great, but the tranny sucks, the radiator is too low and it doesn't have enough ground clearance for its weight.

Title: Re: Broward County Riding
Post by: TurboGSXR on September 11, 2008, 09:38:58 AM
Why in the world are you asking this question to anyone but me Joe?  The Rincon is good but has problems as well.  Its nota true 4 wheel drive its a 3 wheel drive w/ limited slip.  I had to put a locker in there from highlifter.  Also its really prone to overheating.  And your right about the low end torque...I had to put a gear reduction kit in there but once all is done...theres no stopping it!

We have a Rancher as well, the only problem we have had was the Electronic Shift. Other then that its pretty unstopable.

The Humps are great because they have something for everyone.
4x4 that is what I have and there is also a lot of areas for the 2x4's
I live in West Boca off 441 and it takes me one hour to get there.
If you want to go to the humps I will be going on Sunday. I leave around 9am

I went to Bamboo last week it takes one and a half hours.

Title: Re: Broward County Riding
Post by: JOE3504x4 on September 12, 2008, 07:36:09 AM
No Trailer. I actually just sold it with my old bike, I have a small Pick up i use for mine, but it does have a hitch on the back if you have a single bike trailer.

Hey Joe did you get the pic's ?

I have been going to the humps since July and have not had any issues with the law.
We did not see any last weekend but there are usually full size trucks there also.

Title: Re: Broward County Riding
Post by: jrpro130 on September 16, 2008, 10:51:05 PM
Both the Humps and 8st are illigal.  The police usually go on their little "rampage" every once and a while.  They kick everyone out and give warnings...I used to ride there all the time, but since 8st got the no tresspassing signs, I haven't been back.  I'm not one for illigal riding.

Title: Re: Broward County Riding
Post by: JOE3504x4 on September 17, 2008, 08:45:32 AM
Got the pics, thanks Jim. Not really any no trespassing signs, except for the places they dont want you to go. And im not for illegal riding either, but if there are no signs and i see other "regulars" out there with no care, im goin for it. Just like anything else its always certain people that get the cops patroling these areas, if they dont get any complaints chances are they won't bother. It is a great spot though.

I agree I have been going for months now and have had no problems.
I have even seen the local police and FWL there. They only check to seen if your ride is legal.

like stated before once signs are posted I would no go.

I will be there again this weekend.

Humps is legal as long as you stay out of the no-tres zones. We spoke to an FW officer. As long as your bike is registered they do not have a problem with anyone riding there. Lots of nice trails was out on Saturday.

I am not trying to be a meanie or anything...but what officer told you that? I'm just having a hard time believing that it's "legal"

I can understand if it's tolerated...but it's not legal as far as I last knew.  Maybe I'm wrong...but I'd love to ride that place and the only thing stopping me is that I can NOT get a ticket.

Also, he said they located an area that they are going to make a riding park here miami. lets keep our fingers crossed.

I see that the Hump is still open, FOR NOW.  ;) I havent been out there in quite some time. If everyone stays away from the farms the cops usually leave you alone. Problem out there is the little cute sport quads liking to ride full throttle through everyones property.  ::)

Lookin to ride for a couple of hours over there off of commercial tomorrow.... I wanna test out my new snorkel and last week the whole place was underwater!! Leme Know if anyone feels like goin out there and what time. I know theres not much to do but its close and its its WET! Plus the bikes still dirty from last week so it would be a shame to wash it without riding first.

Well There was a few of us out there last week and a cop did stop by. He asked,in the nicest way, if we saw anyone racing up and down the street. After seeing that we weren't punks causin a riot  he hung out and watched for a while. He said he had absolutely no problem with us being out there and told us to have fun. I will be going back this Sunday to test my new snorkels

i went to 8th street on Sunday. I meet up with a group called Mudaholics, they had four side by sides and four ATVs. 8th street is a big area we didn't cover a 1/4 of it.
If you like mud and water this is the place.
The ride there is not bad either.
Hey Joe good to hear your snorkels are working, how you like the tires.

Yea we tried to cover everything one day...made it from north to south, but not all the way west..it's a pretty large area.

We did however go from the l-5 levee at holey lands, to I75 one day, 18 miles total...it was a hardcore ride.  We each had 5 gallons of extra gas on each bike...fun times!

If you haven't been stuck it means you haven't gone there yet. ;D

You sure you want to go to Bamboo?
I think 8th street would be much more of a test and it is closer.
What do you think can you get the group to go south?

Come on Joe, theres the humps in Florida city....45 minutes away, 8th Street in Miami...there are places plus I am getting ready to buy a deed in RR.  Also my friends parents live up in Lake Wales...plenty of trail riding there.

Your right the only way now a days to ensure a place to ride is to buy some land yourself. We here at Mad Dog Polaris heard the same thing day in and day out want a unit would love to buy a ranger or sportsman but where will we ride it? Well we got tired of all our favorite spots closing down. So we hooked up with a land broker in river ranch and are now giving a deeded piece of property for FREE to every one who buys a sportsman 500 and up or a ranger. That way you never have to worry about a place to ride again 70 square miles it is awesome. All tghe haters that try to shut us riders down can kiss our ass.The Mad Dog crew will be out there this weekend. Log on to www.maddogrides.com Every one is always welcome

Snorkel sealed up again and looks to be good now, of course I say that every time i fix the damn thing, now im just having a problem with low end power....When I give it full throttle from a dead stop she wants to sputter out... The air filter was pretty dirty and a little wet. Does anyone know if that could be the problem? Maybe since its not getting enough air its trying to dump too much fuel? I dont know  :banghead.gif

yeaaa....i am kinda pissed, tore my whole transmission up.  It's gonna be time for that brute force, I am not dropping 1800 dollars to fix a freaking transmission...even though I just dropped a lot of money in that  bike, 1200 in axles, a few hundred in maint., and countless hours...

to fix the trans you have to split the case...F THAT! I'm pissed about it, I wasn't even dogging it, I rode harder every other ride, then I break it with matt on my bike :(

Yea...sucks.  I still can't even figure out what is wrong...it just acts like its in neutral when it is in drive...i don't get it.  I don't know where else to look, I am going to change the oil now, but I doubt I broke anything internal if there aren't any metal pieces in the oil...it would be pretty apparent if something broke.  it didn't sound like I broke anything internal either...I dunno

Maybe something electrical?

Title: Re: Broward County Riding
Post by: jrpro130 on December 15, 2008, 05:44:01 PM
Maybe something electrical?

I wish...that is easy.  It's all mechanical as far as the trans is concerned.  I have it all torn apart right now, and the trans shaft spins like it does in neutral when it is in reverse.  NO noises, no grinding, no shavings in the oil, nothing strange except my reverse won't work.  I'm not really sure whats going on but it's not going in the shop because they will just say replace the whole trans/motor...I might end up selling as is or find a motor/trans on ebay...not sure yet.

I'll let you know, matt is talking about tearing into the motor...I'd love to do the hot cams and 734 kit :) I need to fix this R problem...I just don't get it, everything works except reverse...

when i tear into that motor its gonna be bigger and better than what it is now   lol

when i tear into that motor its gonna be bigger and better than what it is now   lol

u gonna pay for it too? lol u will break more than you fix...i know it! it will end up as a 834 after you are done because we will try to do the 734 and something will break when we are doing it...lol

anyway, i dunno what i am doing...I need to split the case, which means that the whole motor has to come OUT and off...which really really really really sucks

5k is payoff, can't sell for any less.  It needs 1k in work.  Dealership quoted me 7hrs labor...It would be all put back together if I sold it, which at this point I'd love to sell, but can't take a penny less than 5k.  I just put 1600 in gorilla axles with 1 ride (last ride that I broke my reverse on), new wheel bearings, brakes, etc the list goes on.  I dump money in to the bike all the time.  Nohting goes unfixed

The bike works perfect, runs like new, etc, foward works just no reverse.  Everything on the bike works with the exception of reverse...

it's the split audio tube, you can get the one piece bc you still have your radiator in the stock position.

or buy direct, moer expensive though

http://www.atvaudiopipe.com/rhino.html

that is what I have.  Mine is for a rhino...I got the bazooka upgrade too.  You HAVE to move your radiator up, it has 3 pieces, 2 speakers and an amp, the amp is enclosed in a 6" PVC tube just like the speakers and is about the same size as it.  I couldn't find anywhere else to mount it other than where the rad used to be.
