Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: yfz122 on August 30, 2008, 03:15:50 PM Fish and Wildlife must have lied to you. There are NO LEGAL riding spots in Sebring or Lake Placid.
Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: Kaw3604x4 Princess on August 30, 2008, 07:26:08 PM Fish and Wildlife must have lied to you. There are NO LEGAL riding spots in Sebring or Lake Placid. Ditto, I have lived here my whole life. ::) They have been known to impound bikes on the spot when they catch riders. I wouldn't take the chance. Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: KAW3604x4 on September 02, 2008, 11:28:33 AM your right, because they were not a very nice person enough to stop us and run the vin numbers on our quads but then told us it was ok to ride somehwere where it's illegal to ride ? now realy what sense does that make in the least bit ? if they went through the trouble of stopping us and checking the vin numbers, wouldnt they have givin us a citation or a warning or even impound the quads for riding in an illegal spot ? and i will take the word of a fish&wildlife officer anyday over someone on a forum. so if you dont know of a spots then dont reply, just because you dont know of any spots doesnt mean there arent any! Well then, MR. NEWBIE, what the he!! are you asking us for? Come up here and ride your bike and get it impounded. We live here and understand that there is no legal place in Highlands County and we fight for the county to give us a legal place. Don't come on a forum and ask us questions and call us liars because you don't like the answer we give you. I don't care what that officer told you but if he didn't write you a citation, you must have caught him on a good day. We have friends that have lost their bikes and received citations for hundreds of dollars. Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: KAW3604x4 on September 02, 2008, 11:47:44 AM You are riding illegally and you are making it harder for us to get a legal place to ride. The more you ride illiegally the more people who are anti-quads have more ammunition to fight against us getting that place we fight so hard for.
If they told you where the legal spots are then ride THERE!!! Stay away from riding in illegal spots, PLEASE!! There is no need for the HASH name calling or getting pissed at us. We LIVE here, don't just come up for a weekend of riding. Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: KAW3604x4 on September 02, 2008, 11:57:33 AM So, where are these spots that you are being told is legal?
I'll hook up with you this weekend to go riding. Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: Sixsix on September 02, 2008, 12:32:54 PM Or do you mean off Washington?
Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: KAW3604x4 on September 02, 2008, 12:59:13 PM Northern is part of the SWFWMD property that backs up to the creek across the road from where we live. As far as I knew and as far as the signs posted on the east and west sides of that property, that is only for horseback riding. My wife rides her horses all through that area. It will be interesting to see what the law enforcement says as far as what the signs read and what actually is allowed out there. SWFWMD is based out of Polk County and what our local law enformement does as far as enforcement, may not follow the guidelines that were SUPPOSED to have been put in place.
Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: KAW3604x4 on September 02, 2008, 01:31:43 PM Could of Pm'ed those street names to each other now every idiot that reads this forum will be there F**king it up for the rest of us. Ive been riding there for years. Thanks! It appears, as it was explained by Bad Intentions Racing, that this area is legal. ??? Not from everything that is posted and the rumors of people being busted out there. So, are you saying this is illegal to ride there and in agreement with the rest of us that there are no legal places to ride? ;) Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: yfz122 on September 02, 2008, 02:08:45 PM Northern is NOT a legal riding area. Wait until one of the weekends they decide to patrol the area. If you really do come up here every weekend to ride you might not want to call people retards. This is a small area and outsiders are very easy to find. I have been riding there for over ten years and I know every inch of the place blind folded. And every other area in the county. >:D

Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: KAW3604x4 on September 03, 2008, 06:12:33 AM Maybe he just realized that he was being a complete jerk to us. :o I cannot believe that a FWC told him there were legal places to ride here and all that about the pulling of vin numbers and letting him go, I think is crap too.
So long Bad Intentions! :( Should have known by the screen name, this wasn't going to be good. :P Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: VForcedave on September 04, 2008, 04:01:00 PM Stay away from there. I have a Arrest Citation to prove it.

Title: Re: lake placid/sebring area riding? Post by: VForcedave on September 09, 2008, 08:52:37 AM I had the Sheriff tell where to go and where not go which I already knew and followed the unofficial rules. 1 month later i got pulled over in my jeep by FWC on a 4 wheeler and he wrote the arrest citation. He said all the land is undercontract for purchase by a government subsidized organization called Florida Forever. I went to the site and saw where they actually colored in the map green which represents the Environmentally Sensitive Areas. Everything was designated Environmental. Hiking, horseback riding and bird watching.
