Post by: rancher1 on August 01, 2008, 05:42:19 PM
Is there any thing that can be done to get a little more power out of it like maybe a new exhaust or a better filter just wondering if its worth a try its a 250 honda recon 2000.......

A pipe will help for sure. You will have to rejet it. Also if you don't ride in the deep water you can open up the airbox and get more power that way. That would require rejetting also.

So either way i go with it i will have to rejet? How much would jets cost to rejet and are there any particular size to go with. What type of exhaust would be good. And would it be worth the time for the power gain or will there be enough power gain to notice.

The difference will be noticeable. Jets are about $5 ea. I would try to find the quietest pipe that still makes good power. Check Yoshimura or FMF they make pipes with quiet cores. I'm not familiar with your quad to help with the jetting. Whatever pipe you buy contact the manufacturer and they should be able to help you with jetting it. Good luck.

depends on what u are doin but putting a little smaller rear tire makes a huge difference.seems these lil recons could use a lil more gearing, mine wont turn the tires when im in some good mud.if i stop,it wont move again if im in some sticky stuff.almost stalls the motor trying.but in normal sloppy mud its fine.wish it was a chain drive so i could just change a sprocket, but no such luck.
