Title: Stolen
Post by: Team Alba Z400 Rider 43 on July 26, 2008, 08:46:05 PM
Alright guys. I never thought this could possibly happen to me, but it did. I thought I lived in a great neighborhood, but some scum bags from a few miles away came in and stole my Z400. In Broad daylight. My dad was in the garage working on one of our mowers, went inside to order a part, and came back out, and it was gone. He was only gone for a max of 15 minutes. Guys, anything can happen. Please, let this be a lesson, if you don't have your bikes locked up, do it. Lock them in a secure building, and chain them up.

The cops found the scum bag who did it, and now it is only a matter of time before I get it back, in pieces or not. It happened this morning at 8 am. As the kid was leaving in the back of the patrol car, he was flicking me off, and all sorts of things. First thing Monday I am getting a gun permit. I don't feel safe in my own home anymore, nor do I trust anyone around here anymore. I am really upset about this.

He is being charged for Grand Theft and Burglary. He is in Ocala and will not tell the officers where the quad is.

I will be posting a thread in the Stolen ATV section as well.

It is a 2004 Yellow Suzuki LT-Z400. Completley done up. Elkas in the front, GT Thunder in the rear, G-force Axle, epic +2 a-arms, Full Alba Exhaust steel braided break lines, houser steering stem, gold pro taper bars, Number 8 on the number plates, race cut front fenders. This isn't even a fraction of the mods, it has all the bells and whistles. Please keep an eye out for me.

I saw this on the other site.  I did not realize you were local.  I will keep an eye out for you.  Too bad you did not know in advance that the kid on the bike was the scum that did it.  Maybe you would know where your quad is right now had you of known  :box.gif

If I had my way with him, he would not be alive, or he wouldn't be able to walk. I will seriously, shoot the next tresspasser that threatens my life, or property. And I will kill with no remorse what so ever.

I am so annoyed and aggravated I dont know what to do, and I don't know how I kept my cool. For the most part. Lets just say some choice words were said.

If he doesn't give up the location of it, I will sew him to the fullest extent. I dont care if he is a poor scumbag who doesnt have any money, I want whatever he has, if he has a car I want it. And I'll smear my poop all over it and send him pictures of it.

Thanks everyone for the support!

I just don't feel like having to start over again:( Atleast I kept every single receipt of what was done to it.

I know the feeling , went thru the same over 15 years ago . Had my ATC 250 R stolen from my car port .Approx 6-8months later my buddy who sold me the bike seen it in the back of Toyota pickup .Long story short we went out and stopped them , call the cops and  the rider was taken away.

You're lucky you got it back right away , mine had the headlight missing and some other stuff . It takes a while to get over it , especially at night when you think you heard a noise outside.

Thanks guys.

Erik, get your a$$ up here, I been waitin for em.

Eldiablo- Thanks brother, and trust me I will. He is at DJJ center in Ocala. So I have a feeling he won't be in there very long. I am going to get as much money out of this as possible. I spent 4 years with my OWN money, blood, and sweat to get this thing where it was and it was perfect for me. Then some punk comes in and steels all my hardwork, all of those hot summers working my a$$ off for that thing. And now its gone. And the bastage won't talk. Oh boy.... >:( I doubt his parents work at the powerplant, I am almost positive he is trailer trash scum.

The sad thing is...The officer informed me he has been arrested for stealing ATVs before. WTH?! she also says they were all recovered. Well where were they recovered? I don't know, I would sure LIKE TO KNOW!

He had to of, they let the pricks go that drove him over here to pick up at that car. It's a joke. Your uncle Greg and I have been riding around trying to find those vehicles, but no luck. Those wooses are hiding out.

Hope you are lucky enough to make a recovery.

Your going to have to do your own reseach on this one Cuz. Cops won't do anything the day after they keep on moving on with new cases everyday. You got to take matters in your own hands on this one, if you want your quad back.

Thanks quad32, He isn't from there, I remember seeing his face around in high school. I think he lives closeby, the officer would not tell us.

I know one of his relatives or gaurdians first name is Terry something. Terry starts with a C, in Crystal River, Florida. I've tried switchboard, everything, nothin is coming up. It is some italian name.

Erik, I'm trying my best man, we are gonna try and charter a helicopter for the hell of it. He may have ditched it in the woods or you never know. I just hope someone didn't torch it.

Think of any place in that area to ride and go looking. I know of the place in Hernando. That would be a good place to start.

There is no way he took it to Holder, it has to be close by, or long gone. I checked all local riding spots. Holder is to vast to cover by foot, and I don't have a spare bike.

There all either broken, or sold. I'm stuck. I been walking through the woods as much as possible. I have a feeling its in a garage too man. The only way I am going to get it back is to tresspass. What has to be done, has to be done.

just to show you guys how easy it is for people to steal our quads, watch this video

http://householdhacker.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56:how-to-hack-any-garage-door&catid=25:main-articles&Itemid=53

now i know most thefts dont include this much technology but theres people out there who steal for a living, obviously.

See this kid, stole the quad in broad daylight. He didn't even have to force an entry, just walked in our open garage, with all our cars in the driveway, and my dad on the other side of the wall, and took it. 5 minutes later my dad walked out, it was long gone. It's insane.

check craigslist and ebay too. they might try to part it out or sell it (thieves arent the smartest people) if they just wanted the $. if you see someone selling alot of parts that you had on it or something you might be able to set up a time to buy them. just take a gun along.

Great idea fox, will also check pawn shops. We already notified all our local dealers, and he cops put out an APB something or another for it also.

Tell the police you'll drop the charges if the kid brings you back the quad. It sucks but it might be worth getting your quad back. The state might still continue with the charges anyways later on if your lucky.

Title: Re: Stolen

Dayum bro, that really sucks. I know how you feel. I use to be into customizing cars for shows. I had a Caddy Brougham hooked up and someone stole it. They had to cut the siren, tore the back window off the frame because I had shatter proof tint on it, sawed through the steering wheel to get the club off, then destroyed the steering column.
They found it 2 weeks later on bricks with $12,000. dollars in aftermarkets...gone. I cried everytime I saw a Caddy.
Just an idea- you can buy automotive stamps for imprinting numbers on everything. They look like 2" rods with numbers on the end. You put it where you want numbers and tap it with a hammer. I put numbers on everything in case they ever get stolen.
The idea of offering no charges pressed for return of the quad might work.

yha trx#9 is definately right, if you really want your quad back just tell him that you will drop the charges, but my question is if he has been charged with stealing quads before why do they keep releasing him with a little slap on the wrist so that he can go and do it some more?!?! but good luck i really hope you get your atv back

Make a verbal agreement with the dude that you will drop the charges if he tells you where the quad is at. Then after he tells you, tell him you lied, just like he stole your quad. And do not sign the papers to stop the charges. Worse case, tell him you will drop them and when is he gets out of jail, you find him and have someone under 18 stomp a mudhole in his azz.

If the quad isn't in a garage, it's most likely stashed in the woods.

Thanks guys, just don't do anything to get yourselves into trouble, he is a minor. And thinks he can get away with everything. And it seems like he can the way our stupid justice system works.

He is already out of jail.

Here is his pic
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=84817992

These are a tad outdated. The subframe is now painted to match the rest of the frame, the nerfs are no longer anodized red, they are brushed aluminum. It also has a GT Thunder rear shock now. I was just getting ready to throw elka reservoirs on the the day it was stolen.

Alba,

Sorry to hear that your quad got stolen.  Believe me, I know how badly it sucks.  I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you may have to come to the realization that you will never see your quad again.  I went through all the emotions you are going through right now when I got my dirt bike stolen.  They actually caught the kid that stole mine, but he mysteriously could not remember who he sold it to.  Its been over a year since I got my bike stolen and I checked craigslist, ebay, cycletrader.com for a while and nothing ever came up.  I don't mean to seem pessimistic, but the reality of the situation sucks and you may not ever see it again.  There is a way you can have the last laugh in this whole situation, and I will share with you what I did when the judge handed down her sentencing.  You will get a victim's claim form in a couple of weeks where you enter the dollar amount of your loss.  PUT EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR AMOUNT YOU CAN THINK OF THAT YOU PUT INTO YOUR QUAD, BUT REMEMBER TO INCLUDE RECEIPTS.  When I filled mine out, I wasn't sure if I would be eligible to claim some engine work that I had done to my bike for $600.  I provided the state attorney's office with a bill of sale for my bike as well as the receipt for the engine work I had done.  In the end, the judge ordered the kid to pay me for the full purchase price of the bike ($3,800) as well as the $600 worth of engine work I had done.  But remember, only mail in the copies of the reciepts, never mail the original.  Plus, sometimes when you make copies of things, there is a tendency for 5's to look like 8's  ;)

I would write the kid a letter saying  he doesn't stand a chance in court with your 2 witnesses. Say you have 10,000 in receipts for court that you will be granted when he loses or he can give back the quad and pay nothing. He'll never get the money that you invested in the quad on the black market.  ;)
Sleazy rider, don't ever say never! My friend RTR 380 had his quad stolen last summer and he recovered it in a couple months. They were stupid kids too.

Sleazy- very interesting, thank you very much for your advice, and I have came to the realization. I appreciate it. I can't wait to get this claim. I have every single receipt and document done to this bike. It totals up close to 9,000. And this is just parts. I didn't include oil changes, etc...

Bushwacker, Man I really appreciate that brother. But don't worry about it. Thanks though, really.

Erik- You know it brother, that is probably what were gonna end up doing. We made a claim to our insurance company tonight, there gonna call us back tomorrow. We will probably get canceled. You know how your aunt Sandy is, yeah she is gonna yell there ear out. But as long as we get compensated. Were gonna try and get a free consultation with a lawyer.

Sorry to hear the terrible news Alba, I too had my old blaster stolen a couple years back... It seemed to suck more than anything too have your passion stolen from you, M*&*^#F%@!^*S... Keep Your head up dude, I got mine back and the scumbag got prosecuted and put in jail for grand theft and petite theft.. Oh yea my contribution about the homeowners insurance deal.. My friend  got his bike stolen out of his shed and claimed it on his homeowners as "Farm Equipment" (he also had a Z, it was only a couple months old too when it got stolen), in the end the homeowners compensated him for his loss, never heard or saw anything  about his bike ever again though.. The only issue is that we live in an acreage so it was a little easier to be feasible insurance claim, I don't know your situation in crystal river, but it is an idea for you.. I wish you the best of luck.

Thanks Yamaha72, I'll keep that in mind, farm equipment 8).

Erik- yeah we filed, might as well, so we'll see I guess. I doubt they will cover it either. But its worth a try.

Look at it this way, it was time to upgrade to a new experience. I look forward to trying the 450 class of riders.
