thats one sexy truck ya got there chad. looks real clean and the interior is in great shape. you got a smokin deal. repaint the hood and put a head unit in and your set. the tires don't look as stuffed as i thought, looks good.

NICE! finally got the truck you wanted. it looks real good but what you need to do is buy the bumper lift brackets(they are pretty cheep) so that it doesn't have that ugly gap between the tailgate and then either move the exhaust tips up somehow or id cut em and dump them before the axle. do the bumper, paint the hood and that thing will be lookin good and id take those window visors off too... a set of crager steel wheels would look awesome on those tires.

miami450r, he had a black z71 just like it but single cab and hes been wanting to get a lifted ext cab truck. i think he did pretty damn good considering he sold his old 92 for 3000$ and bought this 98 with everything he wanted for 3500$

whats the deal with the bowtie on the grill, iv seen them like that before but i cant figure out why they look funy like that? i guess it was like that on the 98s?

DONT DO BLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do these sweet little lift shackles... http://truckshop.com/catalog/DJM-Lifting-Shackles-p-17955.html they would be the perfect amount of lift to match a cranked out front end.

return them or sell them. you can have 2" of lift with just a shackle. you have no excuse to get blocks when you can get the same lift without them for 50$. blocks are plain out dangerous chad. you dont want to have blocks on a truck that your gonna wheel the piss out of. trust me.

your cv angles look pretty flat, you could crank the truck about 2" and still wheel the truck pretty hard and not have to wory about it to much... just dont do blocks! the last thing you want is a block to come out and you loose your rear end and destroy the bed!

hey, you should check in your glove box and look up the codes and see if you have 4.10s or 3.73s. you said it moves pretty good and gets good mpg then it could have the 4.10s... also check if your stuck with the g80 gov bomb locker.

ooo, no wonder it fits those tires lol. you should really consider swapping the blocks for shackles if you want to offroad the truck alot. blocks really aren't safe imo, its fine for just driving around town tho but DO NOT do a burn out with the blocks lol. yea my tires are pulled in to, its just in need of alignment becasue im at factory torsion bar setting with my lift kit, everything is within specs of factory. when you get the money just order up the bumper brackets, shacles and get it aligned and you should be good to go.

i thought 4.10s were only an option on the 3/4 tons and up? 

4.10s have always been an option in any fullsize truck from chevy as the trailering option. the low ratio(more common) was always 3.42 on the obs truck but i guess they changed to 3.73 in the really late obs, i see they also have the new body stlye steering wheels in the 98s.

its a g80?

the g80 is just the code for the eaton gov-lock locker. otherwise know as the gov-bomb, on the 10 bolt rear ends(what you have, all half tons have) it is know for blowing up in your rear end as they get old and worn out, literally blowing up to the paint were your gears and all will get destroyed, iv even seen pics of things tearing through the diff cover lol, do a search on fullsizechevy. the g80 in the 14bolts just get worn out, but don't blow up. unfortunately you have the 10 bolt rearend... but since its not that old of a truck you probably wont have any problems with it, just something to keep in mind when your doing a burnout or anything abusive like that. with big tires you will blow that 10 bolt like nothing, mine blew like it was no big deal. just when your doing a burnout or mudding the truck or something, roll into the gas, dont ever just nail it from the line, stall it up first and roll into it and youll be fine. also keep in mind, if you snap an axle on that rear end, the axle will be coming completely out of the rearend meaning the back of your bed will be destroyed by your tire lol. just be carefull with it. whoever thought that these trucks should come with 10 bolt rearends should be shot... so that being said, go out and have fun with it! lol

heres what happened to my g lock. dont drop the clutch at 2 grand with 38's even if your in soft dirt.

mine had an open carrier with a slide in locker, i gave it a bit to much gas just casually leaving a red light and BOOM. i split the carrier all the way around one half of it, it broke the lunch box locker too.

the 10 bolts are pretty whimpy... especially with 35s and a blower lol

i ended up replacing the carrier with a detroit full locker, and i had to change the pinion seal anyway so i fully rebuilt it... what a waist of money, but i couldnt get a deal on any 14 bolts.

on that vin thing you sent me did you see the HOUSING ASSEMBLY, DIFFERENTIAL - REAR DIFFERENTIAL replace?

yea thats the service stuff, it says your axle was replaced at a dealer at like 30k miles... i guess thats a good thing, your axle has 30k less on it then the rest of the truck lol.

i know your itchin to use that paint gun chad but seriously, leave it red. it looks good.

i know you want to use your paint gun and your truck looks fine in red. so heres the solution. come down to my house with the gun and prep and paint my truck for me, and if you could sand the rust spots on the cab corners for me to that would be great... if you do a good job maybe ill give you that old hood visor siting in my garage.

i like the darker red with a gray line between the red and black better

ooookkkkkkkkkk. just for you but i still have some goop on it

go to walmart and get goo-gone extreme, it works amazing on the goop that the trim leaves on your paint.

I got the goop from my molding/pinstripe with goo gone xtreme and it works amazing. better then goof off. the key is to load a rag with the stuff, not just spray it all over the gunk and wipe it with a dry rag.

your truck would look mean with some 900x16 Power Kings..
