Last year I went out, next day I had a nice hangover, went to the track and "some older then me guys" decided to do shots....I guess the shots will be after races this year. :T

I don't know about a knobbie class but there is a 40th B-day race, TOPIC OPEN.

all i wanna know is will there actually be any real pros at this race or just the usual bunch of posers?? i'd consider comin out with some of my mx pro buddies and show yall something but we aint wastin our time til we see some real talent. :'(

Oh i'll come and donate...to my own pocket that is! You'll know I am there when I come rollin in in my Prevost. I can beat any of you best so-called "pro" riders with any one of my practice bikes. I talked to my guys lat weekend at Timmy's practice track and none of them are interested unless you flunkies are putting up some cash like 1000.00 or better so start collecting some money for us!!

Sweet, that's what we wanted to hear.  We're headin up that way first thing in the morning.  Can't wait to be back at the bowl and see everybody.

By the way, Jennifer....... you better be ready for some birthday shots of tequila after the race :spit.gif

From where I am sitting, it looks like it may rain. Looking at the satellite image for the area it looks like there is precipitation building over the track, so, if it rains out what would be the rain date? ???

Hey Richard how far do you live from the track? according to the radar it was raining hard at 8:30 right over the track?

I'm roughly 50 miles from it. It was raining here slightly, however, looking at the radar it looks like it is traveling in the direction of the track. I live northwest of it and the rain is going in a south eastern direction: Right in T-bowl's path.

It rained here for about an hour. Light soaking rain. I would think it was good for the track since Brady was telling me it needed some water. Theres one more area of rain up near Perry that looks like it might get here in about 2 hours but after that its clear. I would say without a doubt the races are going to go as scheduled. 

Thanks for the update Quad32 we are 2 hours south and we want to race real bad but I also do not want to donate $200.00 the Saudi Arabian oil fund if it's going to rain out.

you can put the map in motion and see where the rain is heading. looks like it is going to rain around noon and should be gone pretty quick. Just talked to Brady and he is at the track and says the track can handle a little more water with no problem as long as we do not get a big down poor.

Im about 10 miles SE of the track. Follow this link and at the top left hit Animate and you will see where the rain is going.

Hate to be the barer of ominous tidings, but it is coming down here right now and moving the track's direction.

No news is race news? Watching the radar, looks like it is still precipitating over the track.

I just talked to someone that answered Bradys phone , its 3:00 pm , and they said he was working the track on the grader as we spoke.

I'll make it next time. The last time we raced with the track extremely wet I went down, lost a gas cap and had mud everywhere. I don't think it will be good for anyone.

How was the Jennifer birthday race???? I hope it was a great race for everyone. ;D ;DL8ter  :P

Man !  What a great night of racing ! For those that missed it  ...........  :'(

I`ll will say that Brady was BRINGING IT on his new Kawasaki !

I second Rick BIG TIME!!!!!

Last  night was a BLAST. Most fun I have have had ALL year. Where else can two people (Pat Golley & myself) battle it out for the lead the whole race and when it was all said and done, we both came home winners. Brady & crew was AWESOME!. I would have bet $$ that the races would have been cancelled due to the rain. I will never doubt again. Even when we had a little technical difficulty, (lights), People were awesome volunteering their vehicle and fuel to light up turn 1 where the light had quit working. But have no fear......Super Brady & crew and their arsenal of equipment worked on two light poles...then in the electrical panel and got the lights working. Races didn t finish until about 1:30 in the morning. Didn t get home and unloaded until 5:30 am this morning. BUT MANNN....WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!  I must have missed Brady "BRINGING IT" on the Kawasaki.......I did catch him "bringing it" coming out of turn 4 on the Cat.

I'm glad to hear it was a good time. How many bike were there? If you and Pat ran against each other, was the Super Seniors and vintage run as one class?
Sorry to say, but I was secretly hoping for a rain out as things fell through for me to attend. :) I promise you we will be at the next one.

Exactly, I was the only Vintage bike so yes I ran with the seniors. Bike turn out was low, I would estimate around 15 to 20 or so bikes But all around turn out was pretty dam good considering the rain. Quite a few gadget cars, micro sprints & quads. One group shipped their gadget cars via Allied freight line :)

Ward, How many bike classes did they have? Were the McMary's represented? If things come together for me, next month or September, I will be supporting/attending as many events as I can.

Well dammit man, I dont know why but I thought it was next weekend, not last night, dang, I need to get back on the forums more often lol. Miss seeing everyone - I'll be at the next one for sure to come say Hey! :)

Hey Richard I was very surprised to not see you guys there last night, you should have plenty of phone #'s from my excel doc to call and check the status of the track especially only living 1 hour away. We did even start practice until around 6:00.

We brought 5 bikes and 1 quad with us last night and our group had a great time on a good track considering the amount of rain that coated it before we arrived but no wins for our crew they were had by Ward Jones who rode the wheels of that old Yamaha 750 and made multiple passes on the outside in both the 2nd heat and the final for the much deserved win in the Super Sr class.

No Vintage class last night because you an Ben did not show up!

Bruce Brantley spanked Kurt and Mines a$$ straight up, neither of us had anything for him.

Nate won the Amateur class riding his RMZ250 with a hard charging James Barber coming home 2nd.

Now, no more excuses from you on missing races just call us/Brady next time for the updated info and get your a$$ to the track.

Ward, you're right, 350lbs doesn't move easily. That said, the only time I worried about that was when Rick Bigelow went by me and got close to my front tire as he slid to the outside. It was definitely fun and I do like the close racing. Makes the adrenaline flow. I know I missed a good time and I am trying to put myself in a position to race and practice when I want. No excuses for not making it because of the wet stuff.
We are trying to get stuff together for Ben. He starts at the University of Northwestern Ohio next month. Going to learn to be a performance mechanic besides regular college courses. Then University specializes in automotive racing. Hell, it even has a short track on campus!  Then he can support dad's race habit!! lol Things have a way of working in your favor and that is the important thing: getting him off to school.

First off we want to thank Brady and everyone who helped for turning a miserable day into a great nite of racing. Also congrats to all the winners.  We especially want to congratulate the ladies class for the whooping they gave the boy's in the novice-intermediate class.( LOL )       

Great job Brady & crew for what ended up being a great night of racing despite the rain!  I want to congratulate everyone who raced for putting on a great show, especially the Youth class where Scott whooped his brother's butt in the 2nd heat and the main to take his first win  :Fp

Even though I missed out on the Birthday shots, it was a good night...

I know!  By the time we got finished, and the kids got their trophies, it was too late for the shots.  I don't think we got back to the house until 2 am.  Next time we come up... we'll have a b-day drink or shot with ya  ;)  It was nice to see you guys, we had a blast.

Many thanks to The Thunderbowl Crew and Brady for having the track ready!!!!  Merritt and I had a blast running!!!! THanks Brady for allowing the ladies to run m/c!!!!!!!!!  Ladies brink your M/C's we are trying to build a ladies M/C class -- The more the merrier!!!

Ward, you mentioned going to your daughter's graduation on Aug. 2nd and as such won't be able to race then. Does this mean that T-bowl will be holding a race then? (Brady that is)
And to Brady, do you need some flyer work done for the schedule? I can do some for the SDTA and for your other go-cart series. I'd need some pictures of the carts as I don't have any. I can also do one for the entire schedule. Let me know, Richard.

Well, what a night. I'm still tired.

You could say we dealt with some "adversity" to say the least.

 First was the deluge of rain at 1pm. I don't how much rain the track got, but my house 10 miles away got almost 2 inches from that storm. The track was a  total washout, but looking out and seeing people who had drove several hours to race at $4 and $5 per gallon made us decide to do everything we could to race. Thanks to Lenny Rambo and Chris Gehring for their help with working the track. The track actually ended up being pretty good. A little bumpy, but very fast and raceable nonetheless.

 Second, when we finally got the track dried out enough to run, the track lights decided not to work. Apparently lightning had hit them and fried the breaker. After a "breif" repair session we finally got them working and carried on. Again, thanks to all those who stepped up and helped get it fixed.

 Aside from weather and our opening night kinks, the night went pretty smooth. There was some great racing. Ward Jones and Pat Golley had an awesome race, and it was cool to see Scott Akers wax his brother Austin in the Youth class. Congrat's Scotty, you earned it.
