Title: Mud water in belt drive
Post by: IXIswamperIXI on June 16, 2008, 08:56:14 PM
What do you guys use to clean out the belt drive after you got muddy water in clutches?  I have thought about a few things... WD40 (too slick), Brake cleaner (might eat belt), water soap (rust?)... Any suggestions?  Its my Polaris RZR... I found a deep hole needless to say, I had a water line on my shirt on my chest.  I never wanted to go that deep I just didn't know it was that deep.  :-\

I would just use the water hose.

Get it clean with carb cleaner, wash carb cleaner off with water, then (I am assuming) get the air gun out to get all the water off?

yeah that should be fine.. like i said i use that for everything... it will eat paint tho.. but if your really worried bout it u could take the belt off then use it to clean it or  jus like JackL said use the water hose... then use the air gun and blow the crap out of it...

Soap and water. If you are new to Polaris go to www.atvquadsquad.com  under the Polaris section. There are some really sharp people who know Polaris on that board.
