Title: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Lauderdale Post by: digginfool on June 16, 2008, 03:57:27 PM I've gone several times over the last couple of weeks; waaaayy more fun than your average kart track! Eight minutes in these karts will definitely get your blood pumping. Just wondering how many other of you South Floridians hit this track when you're not riding your quad. My best time so far is 28.11 seconds and that was with 10 other karts on the track.

Title: Re: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Lauderdale Post by: digginfool on June 16, 2008, 04:41:53 PM The first ride is a little pricey; about $30.00 by the time you pay for everything. After that, it drops to $19.00 for each 8 minute session. It's easy to drop $100.00 there in a couple of hours but it is fun. Not only do they have the karts but they have video games, pool tables and a bar for when you're done karting.

If you don't have your DL yet, you have to be evaluated. For someone your age, you have to run a 35 second lap to get your license, which is pretty easy to do; my 11 year-old daughter did it on her second try. And, of course, bring your money. Title: Re: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Title: Re: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Lauderdale Post by: digginfool on June 17, 2008, 12:31:38 AM I know your pop works for Underground Specialists (from a picture you posted once that showed an air compressor). I knew Richard (darn software wouldn't let me write his name) and Blaise years ago. Either one related to you?

Did you hear about richards kid recently? Yes, I did. Made me feel bad for Richard since ultimately, he will be the one having to pay the legal fees; most parents wouldn't be able to throw their kids to the wolves no matter how old they are. All you can do is hope that other kids (and adults) will learn from mistakes like that; there's no excuse for DUI. The consequences can be extreme and life-altering. Imagine having to go through the rest of your life with that on your conscience. Anyway, hope you get a chance to go to the track. It's a blast. Title: Re: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Lauderdale Post by: snowmanzz13 on June 17, 2008, 05:37:58 PM lol, i like how you made your statement and went back on topic lol I really dont know what to say about the event, their other kid Katie is still seeming to follow in kenny's path with the heavy partying and all the drinking.
I cant believe all of this fell onto dic's plate as he is an extremly nice guy and trys to doeverything he can to be a nice guy, i used to work for C.T.S. who works out of USI's new office in pompano and everytime i saw dic either out in the field or at the office he was the nicest guy to deal with. I mean he is an awesome guy and this just such a terrible thing for him to have to deal with along with Bev. i hope all turns out well for them and this issue can go on a little better i dont know if you saw this recent story on kenny http://www.wptv.com/news/local/story.aspx?content_id=532d9123-1d08-4333-a683-ae16f19fc51f if you let it load their is a video that comes up also GO KARTING!!!! Title: Re: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Lauderdale Post by: digginfool on June 17, 2008, 07:10:08 PM I'm surprised they let him off with only $50,000.00 bond. You're right about Dic. Terrific guy. I first met him nearly 25 years ago when he worked for Mecum and used to party with Blaise every now and then around the same time. We all worked, in one manner or another, for American Cablesystems which became Continental and finally Comcast. BTW, what's your pop's first name and how long has he been at Comcast? Never know; I might know him too.
Title: Re: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Lauderdale Post by: JackL on June 17, 2008, 08:48:56 PM That story caught my eye when it hit last week because I owned a house in North Lauderdale for years. Don't recognise him though. Even twice over the limit, how in the world do you end up running the wrong way on I-95? If you ask me that kid was into more than drinking. Such a tragic story. I feel for everyone affected.
Go carts..I passed by there today on 95. Wish I would have had some time to check it out. I forgot how big that building is. How do they ventilate the place? Title: Re: Xtreme Indoor Karting Ft. Lauderdale Post by: digginfool on June 17, 2008, 08:58:48 PM Powered vents in the ceiling and roll up doors around the track. It's pretty warm in there right now. I imagine it's really nice in the winter, though.
