Title: Motoplex Expansion Phase 1 complete. Post by: Paul_S on May 29, 2008, 10:24:34 PM We recently added 160 more acres to the motoplex. One of the reasons for this expansion was to add a national calibre mx track (amongst other things). Well I am happy to report that this particular phase is now complete. The track (and acres more camping and parking area) have been completed.
I have to take my hat off to Dreth, it is outstanding. It is set on 15 acres (just for the track itself) and we have used every bit of it. The track is national calibre, 30'-40' wide, with big banked corners and big, big jumps. I wanted to keep our fees low, so we are going to charge extra for using the new track, but keep our fees for the rest of the park, at $10.00 per day (for adults) for the general admission and $20 per weekend for our feature weekends. The general admission still includes miles of trails and access to the other tracks. Practice fees for the new track have still to be set, but right now, I think they will be set at about $10 per day (over and above the general admission) for the new track. If you want to ride the new track, it will cost $20.00 per day ($10 practice and $10 admission). Special note, to ride the new track, full protective gear is compulsory. That means, helmet, goggles, long pants and boots. We recommend (but don't require) gloves and a chest protector too. OK, now to the track, it's 1.3 miles long and...well, let us let the video speak for itself. This is just a preview, we are working on a slide show with a full track description, with jump dimensions etc. http://www.floridaatv.com/images/misc/newtrack.wmv Title: Re: Motoplex Expansion Phase 1 complete. Post by: Ride1Rob on May 29, 2008, 10:34:18 PM Great job Paul! Dreth has been hitting me up everyday with details on how well the track is coming along. Man I'd like to get up there but with my JOB obligations it's somewhat difficult. Congrats on the National MX qual race you got as well. That is going to bring some much needed exposure to the Plex ;) .

You entering the race?? I've been wanting to for awhile now and Jam has been waiting to get up there and ride. What I'm going to do is shedule some vacation time around one of your feature weekends. I have some time on the books that I'll have to take. |
