Title: single or dual exhaust?
Post by: wired2ride on February 16, 2005, 04:23:22 PM
is it worth purchesing? The ones ive seen by looney tuned exhaust run around $650 and say 6+ hp. is that alot? some slip-ons alone are $400. Are they worth it? in lte you have a kit that comes with it and it moves around the air filter and battery i think but is it worth it. they look pretty cool and im wondering if anybody has any comments

a 660r raptor gets the best gain overall.. 13.5 hp in the mid range and 10.5 overall i think??and 6 pounds lighter then stock..

I THINK DUEL EXHAUST LOOKS PIMP doesnt mean you have to put it on every single bike

i love the LTE dual exhaust pipe but it is mostly for the look.  They had an article in DIRTWHEELS about it and they said it increases horse power but not the amount for the price.  It also depends on how much money you have to spend.

Dual exhaust is only good on a dual exhaust port motor. But i recently worked on a raptor with dual exhaust and looking at the geometry of the second pipe it doesn't look like it would get many gains with as many turns and curves it had. But i will give it the points for the sound of it. Sounded like a beast!

Stick with a single exhaust you will get the most performance gains, unless your just goin for the bling bling look

ya bro deffinitaly get the looney tuned, if they made it for the raptor 350 i would buy it in a heart beat.seriously i was reading  about the lte and they perform much better than one exhaust. like sombody said two is better than one.

the bigeest jump you get with the lte's is if you have motor work done to the bike. if you do not then i don't recommend them too much money. if you plan on opening it up and getting bored ported and bigger valves then yes you will see the best gain on these pipes.

O.K, take it from someone who has spent 900.00 on a lte(looney tuned exhaust) system, I have a 04` ds650, nothing more than a ron woods high rev limiter, & re-jetted carb.    Looks and sounds Awsome, But not that much of a difference in power!, Yes if I put a different cam, and over sized valves that would help, But why tear a new motor down for that???.
If you have $$$$ to burn Go for it, or just want the sound and  Bling Bling  then its worth it.             Just my opinion of course, hope this helps
