Title: What (if any) are the import taxes on oil? Post by: IXIswamperIXI on May 13, 2008, 08:47:13 AM I know there are a lot more educated people on here so I thought I would trow a question out on here. How much are the import taxes on oil? I am just trying to get my facts straight. I kind of get the feeling the Gov. has no intentions of help any US citizens or trying to resolve any issues the American have with the gas prices because they would somehow loose out on a lot of money. (thats what it always seems to boil down to) I think if we were to drill,truck, package,produce,and refine our own oil it would help out A LOT. (plus think about the jobs created) People I talk to in general blame the tree huggers for not want to drill in the US but I often wonder if the Gov. sits back and lets us think that but in reality the Gov. doesn't want to do it for some reason. Sorry for the rant just stuff I think about.

We are only complaining because we are now feeling what the rest of the world has felt for a long time. Germany....$8.00. England...$5.00. They've payed that for a very long time. And unlike most other countries, we have enough oil in our own states that we havn't even tapped yet that is supposed to last the next 200 years easy (I think that is just in Alaska).
I agree though, prices are still getting rediculas. It's funny though how Bush put a stop to it when they were on the rise after the Hurricanes but now that it is because of war, he hasn't done shiat. |
