Title: Hernando County area? Post by: coolcloo1019 on May 10, 2008, 04:37:08 PM Well I just picked up a new 4x4 and was wondering if anybody knows of any spots around this area to ride. I know I can go out to Croom but I was just wondering what else is around. Any suggestions?
Thanks guys. -Sean Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: Young Gun on May 10, 2008, 05:51:45 PM I could tell you... but then I would have to kill you. ;)

Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: Young Gun on May 11, 2008, 01:13:17 PM what about that spot on Cortez? Which spot... theres more than one. LOL. I just told him about two sand pits off 19. Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: Busta Nutt on May 11, 2008, 02:26:59 PM my brother in law lives up there near the git-er-done plant we ride all ove that place

Post by: Busta Nutt on May 11, 2008, 06:38:51 PM you'll see it north of 50 there
Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: topflight36 on May 11, 2008, 06:42:32 PM what sand pits you talking about rebel.
Busta nutt where is the plant you are talking about. I know of a place in north pasco but thats it. I use to ride the sand pit north on 50 on 19 but A guy that bought some property up there is a jerk and calls the cops now. So becareful if you go there. Anyone ever ride out at anderson snow. Some one told me that is a nice place to ride. But I dont know if you get in trouble. Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: Busta Nutt on May 11, 2008, 08:02:45 PM There is what I think is a small asphalt plant there off of cortez with a black silo that says git-er-done on it. First time I drove by I thought it was kind of strange. Then I saw the neighborhood my brother-in-law lives in and it all made sens.
Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: Busta Nutt on May 11, 2008, 08:06:40 PM my bad I'm thinking of Cobb Road not Cortez.
Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: dssam on May 11, 2008, 08:21:57 PM I to have been looking for a safe place to ride in hernando co.
I have noticed a place just north of long lake rd on 19 on the west side of the road ( about mile or two north of weeki washee) that ive seen people riding. is this place ok to ride? theres also the power lines that run close to my house they run north and south over by oak wood hospital, any trouble riding there? Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: coolcloo1019 on May 11, 2008, 08:59:40 PM Anyone ever ride out at anderson snow. Some one told me that is a nice place to ride. But I dont know if you get in trouble. I live right down the street from there. I've seen people out there but I don't know if they get in trouble. Guess I will have to find out. Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: topflight36 on May 11, 2008, 09:37:44 PM dssam I know both places you are talking about. The one north of weeki wachi is a big pit. I use to have a landscape shop up that way and ride there. My landscape shop was right down the road from there and was sold. The guy that bought the land that my shop was on is a jerk to say the least. He hates quads and dirt bike or anything like that. He told me i couldnt story my quad there anymore. Then he started calling the cops on people. He lives in woodland waters there so he keeps an eye out. It suck that people are jerks lke him. Then on the east side of the road just north of that there is white hurst. You will get in trouble there it iw swift mud property. But I have ridden north of the big pit on the left hand side just north of where they are building that publix. Never have seen anyone out there. Dont know who owns it. IT has water retention ponds and wide trails. Almost like firelane breaks. The Oakhill powerlines is a big no no. This is also swiftmud property. I hear it is killer riding though lol. I would be intrested in finding out if anderson snow is watched. East road of county line has some spots you can ride but i hear that is a hot spots for cops sometimes.
busta nutt more info please. Have you ever been buged up there. what type of riding. where on cobb is it. I know cemex and rinker have mines up that way. if it by them. thank. Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: coolcloo1019 on May 12, 2008, 09:47:20 AM Ive got some buddy's that take their trucks out to White Hurst and they've never gotten in trouble. Don't know about 4 wheelers.
Like I said before, I've never seen cops out at Anderson Snow. It'd probably be best if you rode there and not trailered or had to park your truck. Now that I have a 4 wheeler I'll keep a better eye on it and see how many people go out there and if there are cops or not. I've lived right near there for 8 years now and haven't seen cops, but that's only when I drive by so who knows. Maybe I'll check it out tonight... Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: topflight36 on May 12, 2008, 05:26:38 PM cool let me know i live right up by mariner and springhill drive. Maybe we can get together and ride some. I have heard thaty some parts of white hurst is not bad. but I know a few people that ride there and say they get buged. But hey maybe there is a reason the cops give them a hard time lol.
Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: Kelli415 on May 12, 2008, 06:50:53 PM cant yall
ride under those powerlines? i see people doing it all the time.. Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: Busta Nutt on May 12, 2008, 07:40:46 PM It's a sneak in spot pretty much. If you can get to the tracks back there behind Cobb road you can find it. I only know because my brother in law lives back there. I have not been there in a while and I live on the east coast.
Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: coolcloo1019 on May 12, 2008, 10:27:37 PM cool let me know i live right up by mariner and springhill drive. Maybe we can get together and ride some. I have heard thaty some parts of white hurst is not bad. but I know a few people that ride there and say they get buged. But hey maybe there is a reason the cops give them a hard time lol. I just went out to whitehurst tonight. Had a decent time. It's all dried up so it's sand only. But I still had a decent time. We were there for like an hour and a half and then some guy came on a raptor 700 that was loud as hell so we left because we figured the cops would be there anytime soon. I know some guys who take their trucks out there and never get in trouble, just all depends on how much ruckus you make. They posted signs up at Anderson Snow so I know that's definitely a no-go. I just got it last weekend. The only place I've been so far is Whitehurst out off Sunshine Grove Rd. I need to go out again sometime this week and put some more miles on it. They want me to bring it in for it's first service this weekend...but I've only got 20 miles so far. Title: Re: Hernando County area? I've heard of cops going there from some people and I've heard people that go all the time and have never once seen a cop. So I guess it's hit or miss. It's not posted and there are no signs so all they can do is kick you out I'm guessing. Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: coolcloo1019 on May 17, 2008, 02:45:41 PM Don't go out to Whitehurst. I was out there this morning and got busted by cops on 4 wheelers. Oh well. Won't be going back there again.

Haven't taken the 4 wheeler out there yet though. Will have to do that soon, especially with all the rain we've had lately.

Title: Re: Hernando County area? Post by: duroc825 on July 30, 2008, 10:08:13 PM Stay away from Coyote/East road area the heat is on latley. And I love it when it is cause my property backs up to that land and it keeps the traffic down! Less travelers means less cops! If ya do go out there though PLEASE quit leaving your trash out there and keep your vehicle well hidden. And enjoy it while it lasts.
