but really, i know there is hope for me becasue my 8mpg is due to allot of things and i know exactly what i need to fix to get my mpg back its just hard to throw down the money to fix it when i need to pay for so much gas all the time... Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: kfx400rob on May 01, 2008, 09:09:26 PM an opinion makes you ignorant? I happen to also think that stis LOOK and SOUND like ricers, therefore i wouldnt buy one.
anyone brewin there own bio diesel here yet? saw that episode of trucks again a few weeks ago and with diesel so high now i wish i had the cash to invest in the kit.... Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Chevy1500z71 on May 01, 2008, 09:14:23 PM lets not make this a rice vs v8 bash fest, sorry i even said anything, get it back on track...

Thats like calling a virgin a sleeper just cus shes got clevage. its all what you perceive "rice" to be, I'll admit an sti is stretching it but while there not on the level of hondas and the jap crap, theres still something about that wing and the way a 4banger sounds that makes em seem lame to me. i guess i should find a new word to describe it so i don't offend you import lovers lol. Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: gearhead400 on May 02, 2008, 10:08:48 PM Not a lover my friend, i just appreciate certain makes and models. Nothing takes the place of the sound an 800 hp N/A v8 makes. :) But i would hate to own one of those right now because i wouldnt get to drive it but like...once a month.

Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Chevy1500z71 on May 02, 2008, 10:37:52 PM ok once again, am i the only one driving a blown v8 burning premium at 8mpg and doesn't complain? lol. if thats not dedicated to not driving a ricer than i dont know what is... got my new long tubnes on today along with soem new plugs and a new 02 sensor i should be right up in the double digits for mpg finally lol, once i tune it, i really should have much of a problem getting about 14-15mpg... if i keep my foot out of it.

Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Young Gun on May 03, 2008, 03:17:12 PM Juan can back this up, I am a domestic person for life. I LIKE paying that $65 every 4days to fill my truck lol. I hate imports with a passion. BUT, I know what IS rice and ISNT rice, and an STI is far from it. A friend of mine has one and it looks awesome for an import, granted he took the rear wing off. But they are rally cars that are AWD... they actually have the excuse to need that big wing for traction. Worst part is that its a quick little car, with the right tune it can run mid 11's in the quarter mile. ???
I do like how Dodge came out with the SRT4 though, kills them Subys :D. I might be making the switch to one of them bad boys. I think your friend is a member of floridasubarus.com Might be, I know he's on tamparacing.com. He uses Supraman as his username, yet never owned a Supra before lol. He had the blue Civic SI that got totaled, then got this. Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Turboderf on May 03, 2008, 10:44:02 PM sorry i wouldnt own a dodge jap all the way 200,000 miles why not
Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: kfx400rob on May 03, 2008, 10:58:59 PM you know what, I'l just stop calling it rice on this forum, but they still look, and sound lame to me, i just don't like em, couldn't drive one man. and im gona have to call bs on 11s with just a tune, id say 13s are more reasonable...
Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: svtbolt04 on May 03, 2008, 11:58:24 PM Nah, I would say a mid 12 is possible. My Lightning could have ran a mid 13 with a tire. Its been done before with others. A STi launches better and is a bit quicker.
Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Young Gun on May 04, 2008, 12:45:07 AM His has some work done to it, I'm not sure what exactly though. But there is a guy I guess that has the same car and mods, with the right tune he was able to run mid-11's with no problems. I think his car may have an upgraded turbo versus the stock one, but once again I'm not sure lol. I dont hangout with the kid really, but I know his brother.
I was in disbelief also until I saw some of these cars perform lol. A whipple cobra pushing 700RWHP on slicks only runs a mid to low 10. Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Slick89 on May 04, 2008, 03:39:43 AM ok once again, am i the only one driving a blown v8 burning premium at 8mpg and doesn't complain? lol. if thats not dedicated to not driving a ricer than i dont know what is... got my new long tubnes on today along with soem new plugs and a new 02 sensor i should be right up in the double digits for mpg finally lol, once i tune it, i really should have much of a problem getting about 14-15mpg... if i keep my foot out of it. your not the only one. I don't complain? i got what i got. its getting right at 14 right now with the AC mainly off. prob get 13 with it on LOL. but seriously im tired of hearing these 4 bangers complain about gas. besides theres not much we can do. Oh and good luck with keeping your foot out of it... sometimes it sooo tempting! A STi launches better and is a bit quicker. probly more like 14s bone stock, your gonna need more boost to get in the 13s with a lightning, with a smaller pulley and a tune then yea that would put her in the 13s. Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Slick89 on May 04, 2008, 03:06:59 PM ok once again, am i the only one driving a blown v8 burning premium at 8mpg and doesn't complain? lol. if thats not dedicated to not driving a ricer than i dont know what is... got my new long tubnes on today along with soem new plugs and a new 02 sensor i should be right up in the double digits for mpg finally lol, once i tune it, i really should have much of a problem getting about 14-15mpg... if i keep my foot out of it. your not the only one. Well all i can say is dont get your hopes up. i mean it should help... but you never know. Oh and its hard to be light footed when naturally you was born with a heavy foot!! ;) :drive.gif Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Chevy1500z71 on May 04, 2008, 03:20:48 PM no it will definitly help the mpg, theres no doubt, a leeking exhaust gives the 02 sensor a false lean reading so the ecm compensates making you pig rich then the plugs go black, then your 02 sensor fouls, further screwing up your ecms perception of how your moter is actually running which all leeds to pig rich black smoking like a diesel horrible gas millage. im not expecting miracles, but 11 mpg would be a good number to shoot for until i start tuning...
Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Slick89 on May 04, 2008, 03:31:38 PM Thats true you should get 11 without a prob. mine leaks on the pass. side and the o2 is on the driver side so it dont hinder it really.
Title: Re: My new gas gauge. check it Post by: Chevy1500z71 on May 04, 2008, 10:35:53 PM thats not really a big deal, my 02 sensor was literally right behind the massive leek. once i actually get tuning, i should have no problems with around 14mpg with the gear setup i have, mostly due to the fact that i will be tuning from a wideband 02 sensor so i will actually tune it to run at 14.7:1 air fuel ratio, not some piss poor narrow band 02 sensor reading that may get you close to that but always on the rich side... the pre 94 1 wire 02s are the worste, at least i have a 3 wire 02 sensor trimming up the fuel map for now.
