Title: Front end alignment
Post by: Chris505 on December 22, 2004, 06:01:20 AM
Ok i have put another stock tie rod end this past weekend and set what i thought was correct...

Just got the bike back from the shop and had a FMF full system & Dyno Jets put on the V-force ;D

While it was there i told the guy to check the front end out to see if i had bent anything other than the tie rod...
After picking up the quad last night he said nothing was bent but had to adjust the toe....

Now the front tires look toe'd in alot more than i had it....
Does anyone have any suggestion on how to set toe on the front wheels????? or how much toe in should there be?????

Being my back tires stick out further than the front i can not just put a straight edge on it from front to back....
Does anyone have any home made ideas for setting toe?????

measure from center of tire to center of tire, alot of guys run around 1/4" of toe from front to back

so you will go off the tire??? i was trying to measure from the rim and it is hard to get a good measurement on the inside of the rim...but i guess the tolerence is greater than say a car..
Just got my new aftermarket tire rods today so ill be out installing them tomorrow..

Check this baby out... Something else is going to break before this bends :o.....
