Title: ALKY 2 stoke feedback Post by: Hoosier Daddy on December 23, 2004, 03:21:58 PM hey guys im experimenting with methonal in my banshee.
when i mixed my oil with it (yamalube) and pored in into my tank it turned in to a "gel" and plugged up my tank filter.. the bike obviously ran like crap even before it gelled up. so whats up? what do i have to do to run ALKY and get the power this stuff has?? Title: Re: ALKY 2 stoke feedback Post by: big-daddy on December 23, 2004, 04:09:35 PM Chris, we use model truck fuel call BACKYARD BASHER. its a mix of methanol, nitomethane and non petroleum lubricant. 20% nitro 16% oil we mix it with little bit of bean castor oil for more lubricant. I can get the correct mix formula for you. they also make 30% nitro mix more of 100yard runs. but before you can run this fuel you need to rejet the carb to handle the fuel mix. I use a dyno and a temp gun to rejet my carb. to you have access to a dyno? the temp gun is used to check the temp of the exhuast and the sparkplugs to make sure both carbs are tuned the same (leaner hotter, richer colder) do not go by the position of the air screws to adjust mix.

Run it with a castor oil or another oil that says it is ok to use with alky. Also, if you didn't know you need to purge your motor with gas at the end of the day. If your really serious, call up Dennis Packard and order some Lectron carbs, he knows his stuff.
