Post by: snowmanzz13 on April 12, 2008, 08:05:49 PM looks like a good resto project, but you want back to the factory exhaust?!?!?!?!? put some pipes on it and wake it up bro, you'll love it
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: Young Gun on April 13, 2008, 02:10:25 PM Looks awesome. I agree, I would do some modifications to it to make it come to life.
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: carg on April 13, 2008, 03:46:26 PM Thanks, It had a single fatty pipe on it, but it was trash. I put about a grand into it replacing tons of parts, I put stock pipes back on cuz i found them for like $30 and FMF pipes are $500. I do plan on adding them just need to save some more money up... My fav thing I put on is the stainless steel bolt set, well and the skid plates. I found a set on eba* for $100, what a diff that made.
Do the pipes really make that big of a performance increase, enough to justify $500??? Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... I get them because they're cool. :dunno.gif Lol, they do show a good amount of power increase... they will help with the powerband immensely. Plus it's always fun to ride around on something that will make pedestrians go deaf... not that I ride on the roads or anything! ::) Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: Miami450R on April 13, 2008, 07:33:30 PM not that I ride on the roads or anything! ::) you DONt ride.... . PERIOD Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: Chevy1500z71 on April 15, 2008, 09:56:24 PM pipes make a HUGE diff on 2 strokes, well worth more than 500$ if you ask me... i think its like 16 extra hp or something rediculus likle that on banshees.
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: FastestCub305 on April 15, 2008, 10:01:29 PM Also look on ebay and BHQ for pipes used I see em all the time for 275 -350

Post by: 94Hardbody4x4 on April 16, 2008, 02:14:29 PM Is the frame and steering and suspension all powdercoated?
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: carg on April 16, 2008, 02:35:39 PM Is the frame and steering and suspension all powdercoated? I was hoping someone would ask this question. Ok so I wanted to powder coat the frame and a buddy has a home setup to do it, But then I started to think. This is a quad not a show car, and it is going to get chipped right. My luck on the first ride out. Then I would have to repair that part cuz I went through all this work it is going to look good damn it... I figured that was a little impractical, but I know regular paint would just ware off to easy and look like crap in a few months, so what I did was........ I bought truck bed liner from walmart, after that dried I painted the bed liner with rust-o metallic blue. I love it and cool thing is when I get a chip a little spray and I am all set plus its stronger than plain paint. Yes I know some of you will say I added a lot of weight but I don't race professionally so I don't care. Plus I am kinda fat so whats 5 extra pounds right... LOL Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: 94Hardbody4x4 on April 16, 2008, 03:46:55 PM That cheap bedliner stuff will chip easy in a few months as well. Trust me, been ther done that. Where ever sand rubs on it (bottom part of the frame, steering, etc) it will rub off. Hopefully you put a few coats on.
Looks alright though from the pictures, I probably would've painted the steering black or something to keep it clean but it looks ok how it is. Nice job! Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: snowmanzz13 on April 16, 2008, 10:38:54 PM CPI's are good in frame drag pipes basically
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: Miami450R on April 17, 2008, 09:10:28 AM cut the fenders and put the stock headlights back on and it looks good :)
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: carg on April 17, 2008, 09:40:31 AM cut the fenders and put the stock headlights back on and it looks good :) ok so this is one thing i dont get... why cut the fenders I personally dont like the look, plus i ride in some mud so it would get all over me. i could see it if you only rode in sand i guess, or if it was a drag bike ok but why else???? thanks for all the comments by the way... Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: carg on April 17, 2008, 09:42:01 AM CPI's are good in frame drag pipes basically ok so dont i fel like a tard lol thanks. ill check them out. Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: snowmanzz13 on April 17, 2008, 05:41:25 PM the cut fender look wasnt the greatest look for me when i got my banshee but it kinda grew on me and now i hate the stock dumbo ears lol. Them front wheels will throw mud at you and in your face all the time without fenders. But i think without the front fenders you have less wind drag for those top speed runs
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: Sixpack on April 17, 2008, 05:47:11 PM Nice job, looks great! Are you ready to get it dirty now? Sixpack
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: carg on April 17, 2008, 08:23:35 PM Nice job, looks great! Are you ready to get it dirty now? Sixpack yeah when and where ??? Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: Chevy1500z71 on April 17, 2008, 08:40:59 PM you should have painted it with bbq grill paint. that stuff is super tough, if you do it right, gota let it dry and then heat it up really good to get it to cure.
Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: Young Gun on April 17, 2008, 09:05:16 PM Atleast he HAS something to ride.... Well he has a car that gets like 2352958720398mpg's, so he has extra dough to buy a quad (every 3months or so) My truck gets -5mpg. It's cheaper to have Mexicans push it around. Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project... Post by: KD 428 on April 17, 2008, 09:23:31 PM How the hell does your little Dakota only get 5mpg!?! My friends silverado can get 16 plus easily even with a heavy foot.
Anyway nice Banshee ;) Title: Re: My Banshee restoration Project...
