Since permits became mandatory in 2002, the Croom Motorcycle Area has become a major source of revenue for the Florida Division of Forestry. Depending on which time of year they are purchased, permits for motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles can cost up to $50 per machine. For fiscal year 2006-2007, the state collected $792,215 from those who used the Croom Motorcycle Area, according to figures obtained by the Division of Forestry. That does not include the fees for Withlacoochee State Forest overnight campers who pay for access to the motorcycle area. The state park brought a total of more than $1.1 million in revenue during the last fiscal year, according to the Division of Forestry. So where in the hell is this money GOING???? Not spent in trail grooming that is for sure!!!!!! I never been to croom but ive hear alot and just just listening i dont think its really with the drive for me. I like being able to ride all day and then go out and eat in a restaurant for dinner.
Title: Re: Croom..1.1 million $$$ Post by: predatorracer8 on April 06, 2008, 03:55:31 PM croom is just up i-75 from me like 30-40 minutes an im there, i like croom because you can just go and not worry about wat direction you need to be going all you need to no is wats north wats south and just gho that way and you'll be were you want to be. the motoplex is a nice place and i will be up there more when i get my truck which hopefully will be soon.
