Title: Ball joint replacement Post by: yunt2ride on February 12, 2005, 03:53:23 PM I have a 2000 model 325 magnum 4wd, I cannot get the ball joint housing out of the strut housing. There is no bolt to attach anything to because the ball joint broke and the A-ARM just fell off. Does anyone know how to do this. My ball joint wore out and I am trying to replace it. It looked pretty easy but now I am finding out that it is a job. Thanks ahead of time.

The welds at the right side lower control arm bracket to axle tube attachment may have inadequate fatigue life due to poor weld quality. This can lead to separation of the control arm bracket from the axle tube. If the bracket separates the vehicle could experience reduced directional stability, braking degradation and/or vehicle pull under braking. Dealers will replace the front axle with a properly welded front axle. Owner notification began March 20, 2000. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact DaimlerChrysler at 1-800-992-1997. Also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Auto Safety Hotline at 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236). Title: Re: Ball joint replacement Post by: yunt2ride on February 12, 2005, 04:55:38 PM What does that tool actually do. The joint only goes in one way and out the same way. It can not push through. I'm sorry If I'm ignorant on this HEHE but This thing is kicking ny tail. If it still had the bolt attched I could just use a slide hammer but the A-ARM actually fell of and the ball joint is now separated.
