Dear Russell,

Representative Gayle Harrell (R-81) doesn't like the idea of
Florida being a "Sanctuary State", and she's doing something
about it.

Harrell introduced the "The Florida Safe Borders Act of 2008"
(HB 821), a bill that would crack down on illegal aliens and
their employers, and empower state and local officials to
investigate and report illegal aliens and their employers.

Russell, this important bill is currently stuck in the
Government Efficiency and Accountability Council, and we
need your help to move it forward.

If this bill is not read by this counsel, relief from the
increasing pressure of illegal aliens draining benefits and
services from Florida taxpayers will only worsen.

That's why we are counting on our Florida members to take
immediate action with us.

Can you believe the nerve of these people? Nine state legislators from the Mexican state of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona's new employer crackdown on illegals from Mexico.
 
It seems many Mexican illegals are now returning to their hometowns and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked:
 
A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to say Arizona's new employer sanctions law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state. At a news conference, the legislators said Sonora - Arizona's southern neighbor, made up of mostly small towns - cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools it will face as illegal Mexican workers here return to their hometowns without jobs or money.
 
The law, which took effect Jan.1, punishes employers who knowingly hire individuals who don't have valid legal documents to work in the United States. Penalties include suspension or loss of a business license They're pissed off because their own citizens are returning to their hometowns, placing a huge burden on their state government.
 
This lady has some serious balls: They want to tell them how the law will affect Mexican families on both sides of the border 'How can they pass a law like this?' asked Mexican Rep. Leticia Amparano- Gamez, who represents Nogales. 'There is not one person living in Sonora who does not have a friend or relative working in Arizona,' she said in Spanish. 'Mexico is not prepared for this, for the tremendous problems' it will face as more and more Mexicans working in Arizona and sending money to their families return to hometowns in Sonora without jobs, she said. 'We are one family, socially and economically,' she said of the people of Sonora and Arizona. Wrong.
 
The United States is a sovereign nation and its states and its citizens are not responsible for the welfare of Mexico's citizens. It's time for the Mexican government to stop parasitically feeding off of the United States and start taking care of its own citizens.
 
Too bad all the states don't pass a law just like it.  Maybe that's the answer since congress  will  not  do  anything.

One of my favorite stories regarding ID cards---when I was working at a college in Indiana, I used to hang out with friends at a great drinking spot. A friend was too young to drink. So he made up a DL using the Pakistani version of money, having cut it in half with his picture on it with ARABIC language on it. NO ONE could read Arabic in this small Indiana college town.....and usually let him in! Not worth the hassle arguing over the legitimacy of this DL. This is not made up, I've been drinking with this guy, and it works. I loved the loooks on the bouncers when they try to figure out this priceless item.

Oh by the way, it was WELL before the terrorist attacks! Way before!

I would think that if he did that now he'd probably get a cup full of pissss (lol).

Let's say I break into your house

A lady wrote the best letter in the editorials in ages!!! It explains things better than all
the baloney you hear on TV.

Her point:

Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.
 

 Certain people are angry that the USmight protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.
 Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave.

 But I say, 'I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house) .

According to the protesters :

 You are Required to let me stay in your house.
You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan.
You are Required to Educate my kids.
You are Required to Provide other benefits to me & to my family.
(My husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

 If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working  and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house.

And oh yeah, I get a free education, where you have to pay your own way through college.

And what a deal it is for me!!!

 I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.
 

 Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE!!! So you can communicate with me.And don't forget to make sure your forms are in my language - I need to understand them...

 Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?  Only in America!
