Title: Aftermarket links/suspension vs stock.

Aftermarket links are supposed to take the "buck" out of the rear.  How many of you on here run an aftermarket link?  What are your thoughts on it pros vs cons.  Aftermarket suspension, how many of you are running an aftermarket suspension setup?  If so what brand and how would you rate it?  Now for stock stuff.  Anyone running revalved/resprung stock shocks?  How are they?  Do they compare to an aftermarket setup?

My first setup was elka long travel shocks and there link .It was better then stock but it still had some buck left and my rear shock kept blowing out.So i talked with Mike at ATP and he talked me into Fox Evol shocks and a walsh link and all I can say is WOW. Big difference way better ride and less buck. I hope this helps.

Turboderf and hontrx450rracer know alot about the gt thunder links/susp setup. After everything Ive heard about them I am gonna be purchasing a linkage from gtt in the next week or 2. It also lowers ride height

How low does it make it?  I dont want it uncomfortable to sit on or anything.  I do sit down every chance I get on a flat part of a trail.

Ive ridden on GTThunder shocks, and recently purchased the rear shock and link, and from riding on them I can say they work. Very little kick in the rear.

i think its about 2"

I have a skid plate I understnad I have to cut it?  Will the link stick out or could I just shave down the skidplate?

i just cut out the part where the link goes and over to the right, but i left the part that the chain guide is on, so the skid plate sorta makes an L shape, but it works and the linkage is strong. i have the gt-thunder revalve and respring and the linkage on both 450r's that i have and its definitely way better over stock.(definitely worth the money)

Rebuilt stock shocks are all you need IMO. I have the GThunder XC package on my quad and I'm very happy with it. I had all 3 shocks revalved and resprung with  the XC rear link. The rear is 1000 times better. It does lower the quad about 1 1/2" to 2". You can keep you skid plate but you have to shim in down about 3/8". That is what I did with mine. I would get a lnik and have the rear revalved and/or resprung.

yeah fr my suspension i'm going for 450r fronts and getting all 3 shocks revalved/resprung.  I'm debating the link, so far I hear good things but i'm just trying to justify the cost.  I ride pretty much all trails (at Croom) which if you have beent here quite a bit of the trails are filled with whoops.  I think I might be going with another company other than GTThunder.  C&D racing are much cheaper and do work just as good.  They say they can do the same with the shock using the stock link as with the aftermarket link.  Anyone see HLS Suspension.  They are a new comapny that just formed selling shocks very cheap.  The company is HMF and GTT combined to make the shocks.  Idk what HMF has to do with it but there prices on Elite shocks are only $855 or so.

It does not lower the quad enough to make it uncomfortable or anything. But I know quads with the linkage look 10x better. I would go with gtt, thats what Im eventually gonna go with.

And hey, Brandon Sommers does pretty good with GTT susp.
