Post by: lilnomad666 on February 19, 2008, 10:13:23 AM
My friend just bought a warrior with frame damage so you can't read the vin and i was wondering if there is anyhting about the bike that would tell what year or what year range it is so we can order parts

The warrior hasn't changed in over 10 years. I think you will be OK. Also the 10th digit in the VIN is the year, just like a car.

Got a pic of it? The early 80's had pull start and square headlights.

What parts do you need?

You can look them up yourself at www.mrcycles.com

Nope.
Look for your EPA decal on the air box. Some bikes had it on the sub frame/rear frame. It states this motor vech bla, bla, bla, meets EPA requirements for xx-xx model year. The Warrior had a couple of goofy runs Cali and Maine, NH models. Carb jetting and plastic colors should be the only differance in those.

If you can't find it, order 1997 or newer parts. 1997 was the first year of the round head lamps.
