Title: How do you check a stator for output? Post by: rtracey on April 28, 2005, 09:21:54 PM My sons friends little Honda 70 knockoff just quit running, no spark at all. Is there any way to check stator out put? Test light to ground on each lead? How about CDI or coil? I can deal with car engines but don't know squat about these little things. Help please!

You need a ohm meter to check these. You should have a wiring diagram to determine which wires are for these to coils. There will be 2 wires for each coil. You need to check the resitance across these wires. I am not sure of the exact specs for that atv but you should get a reading somwhere between 100 and 300 ohms.
