Title: sugar in my tank
Post by: skizzfry on April 02, 2005, 01:09:09 PM
to make a long story short...about 5 months ago i had to kick my roommate out because he kept slipping on rent. About 3 weeks later his x girlfriend called me and said that the day he moved out he dumped some sugar in my gas tank of my z400. i just thought she was just being vindictive and wanted me to beat him down.for three months i ran the sh#& out of my quad and there was no problems. for the last month i havent started the quad because i got hurt.So today was gonna ride so i thought i should drain all of the old gas and put fresh gas in.When i was done draining the gas i looked down the tank to make sure all of the gas was drained. :o Well ill be!!! Sugar all on the bottom of my tank. I took it to the shop shortly after. Can anybody explain why my quad still runs perfect after putting 15-20 hours on it with all that sugar in the tank? also does anybody know of any additives to clean my fuel lines? As for the punk who did it. I hurd he  just got a new gti. ;) justice will be served!

I think they did a myth busters thing on this and they busted the myth that not real MAJOR damage will because by sugar ... could be wrong though !

It didn't damage your engine because it didn't dissolve. If he had put dark Karo corn syrup in there, you'd be hosed. Clean it all out good, replace your fuel filter and you should be good.

1slowfox is right. Sugar won't hurt your engine. Take off the tank and clean it out. You should be fine.

What you do Skiz is somehow get under his hood and dump about 5lbs of sugar in his oil. It will run great until he shuts it off and it cools down. Then it will turn to concrete.  ;D
Paybacks a b%$ch.

When I was in high school, a friend of mine had his car engine ruined, someone put lacquer in his oil. Don't know how much, but it glued it up real tight. Had to get another engine.

the only thing sugar will actually do is get in the needle and stop it from sitting in the seat, as for revenge,  poke his spark plug wires with a needle a  bunch of times, it will miss like hell.  now ass for a non-lethal and non-distructive but very affective way of getting him , get stick on wheel weights from a tire shop and stick them on the insides of his tires, it will take awhile to figure out what the vibration is............

I was always curious about "great stuff" expanding foam, in the exhaust pipe. Do it at night and by morning its solid. What would that do?

when it gets hot it will melt out but before that happens it will create enuff back pressure to mess up the oxygen sensors reading

Stick anchovies in his cowl vents by his windshield, they will start to rot and every time he runs the AC it will stink like rotting fish in his car.  TRUST me it works.

Screw all that high cost damage...it'll just end you up in the clink (jail)...or shot (a little worse)
Get some deer piss in a bottle and put it on his door handle...low cost...non-destructive and very effective.

I like the girlfriend thing also...picture please.

Damn dude...I was talking about some hunters scent.  But if you want to try to hold a deers winkie, I'm thinking you'll have a pissed off deer...unless it's a gay man loving deer.

wrap a piece of tape around his driveshaft ( if its rear wheel drive ) be sure to let a piece about 4 inches long flop around loosely.

Use bailing wire to attach a fish to his exhaust headers.  Ever try and get burnt fish smell out of a car?  You can't.

Sugar may not work in the gas tank, but sand does.

I'd still do it with his girlfriend.  She must like you if she called to warn you ;)

Stupid question... But did you ever run on reserve during the time that your pal put the sugar till the time you discovered it? It could be that the sugar was in the reserve area and under the reach of the main supply.  Sugar is devastating to the engine when it hardens!
