i love doing them just don't have any pics of me doing them ... but i'll get some and take some pics

Speaking of wheelies, we have new neighbors (renters)  he and his buddy were out in front of the house trick riding on crotch rockets yesterday. I walked outside to see what was going on. They were wheeling up and down the street, doing front wheel hops and stuff. Well one guy did a front wheel hop at about 30-35 mph and went to far. The bike just smashed him into the asphalt. I'm guessing $600-$800 in damage to the bike and a broken collar bone.
What pisses me off is that they were doing this for a good half an hr and not one cop came by. But I ride my quad 1 time across the street in the field and the Sherriff shows up. Go figure.

not a wheelie but the front wheels are in the air nonetheless.[my friend owns the lot and we do slides in it, i was not planning on jumping, thats why no helmet

Bro, you never plan on having a wreck. My families rule is that your butt does not touch the quad without a helmet on your head. An accident could happen just loading the quad on the trailer. better safe than sorry. you gotta protect your mellon.
Otherwise cool pic.

Hey i was wondering if the guys in those video have some sort of after market grab bar on the rear of there bikes that hold up better when there draging it on the ground. Also is it real bad for the bike if when your doing wheelies you don't use the clutch to shift????????????????

Title: Re: Wheelies
Post by: Raptor1 on February 10, 2004, 08:01:44 PM
i don't believe anyone of them are on this site but yes they do have a diferent grab bar to drag like that and.......
and no i would not suggest to shift without using the clutch.

why is wheeling such a big deal? Whatever happened to casing a 50 foot double?

Title: Re: Wheelies
Post by: live2wheelie on February 11, 2004, 01:39:32 PM
jumping is is definitly fun wheelies are just addicting there just as fun but in a different way. But why would you want to case a 50 foot double, clear that thing

Guys, I am by far no preacher, but you gotta protect your mellon. Put on a helmet next time. By the way, cool pics.

Title: Re: Wheelies
Post by: PredaGator on March 03, 2004, 09:49:25 AM
True that on the helmet thing. I was on the 400ex on the left side of the pic on last page w/ the 2 400's. I usually never ride without a helmet but I figured that since we were just messing around in the yard,no harm could come from it. Shortly after that pic was taken,I put on my helmet and chest protector.(Fortunately) Within minutes I had to bail off the bike while doing a 4th gear wheelie and I landed on the ground on my back and I hit my head. I have a bent upper a-arm and a bruised back to show for it and my day of riding came to a quick end. I am confident that w/o a helmet I would have been in worse shape. that was a reminder to me that anything can happen at any time no matter how many times one has ridden....Ride safe.

Title: Re: Wheelies
Post by: Asphaltdragon on March 03, 2004, 09:54:59 AM
Thanks for steppin up to the plate to admit that. We all like to show and talk about the power of our bikes but never talk about about that one time where somthing bad happened. Me personally I need to add a chest protector to my gear.

Title: Re: Wheelies
Post by: Nightbreed on March 03, 2004, 02:52:11 PM
maybe, people shouldnt talk out their azz, when other people are just trying to have some fun, and as for toys, and being scared, sorry, my wife has been riding for only three weeks, and shes rinding a 330r. i think every one here would agree you dont just hop on a bike like that and be a master at it. and as for me, i dont think any one here has played with toys with the horse power and speed that i have. so opinions are like azz holes, some of them stink, so please keep them to yourself and let the rest of the FAMILIES here enjoy their hobbies.

Best advice - Hit the rear brake and pull in the clutch. If you dont wanna wreck, worry more about control than goin big at first. If you can bring it down at any time then it wont matter how you get it up. Pull her up and put her down over and over. Its actually really easy. Ill post pics when i buy my digi camera.

Your pic was not the only one deleted. We delete pics without helmets everyday. We don't catch all of them, and it's a fairly new policy. If you find a pic without a helmet, please use the "report" button on that post to report it to the staff and it will be deleted.
We know that people ride all the time without helmets and we are not trying to make everyone wear a helmet. We just do not want to be viewed as promoting not wearing one.

LaKeMaRyKiD  Here is the best advice. Ride said it perfectly.

Man that is great!  I love hearing stories like that...really means a lot.  If you want to shoot me an email or IM I will hook you up with some more up to date footage for him to watch since the videos on our site are like 3 years old and the tricks have evolved like crazy...hehehe.  My normal email account is acting funny lately and I'm not getting all of my messages, so if you want to send me one use this.... jlanphear@globalnetisp.net.

PS...I haven't watched those vids in forever, but If my memory serves me correctly, I believe that Video #2 would be Linkin Park - Points of Authority.  It's one of the remixed versions of that song.

Take care man, and thanks for the story!!!
